i tried going to the Homepage, but it's in German! i've got my feed set up and it inputted the first time, but i can't find any documentation on how to get it to update, like once a day. i'm going to have to search for a little more robust program.

Little by little.

Have a great day! :)

I thought this component was fantastic. Totally what I needed.
I found it was missing a valuable mambot: an rss button includer.

So, I've written one. IF anyone wants it, just email me. I tried to submit it to the owners of this component, but I can't read German and so couldn't really navigate their site. Sorry.

It works by putting {rssfeedbutton}ID{/rssfeedbutton} in your content, where ID is the ID of the feed.

It creates an RSS image-button, which links to that feed.
If I'm barking up the wrong tree, please forgive me.

This Component was exactly what I needed. Remember, though, that to publish the feed on your front end you will have to create a module or content item and post the RSS-URL this component generates.

I have installed this component on a few sites with mixed results. For starters, there is no support. What little is there is in German, not the most accessible of languages.
I have to say that I really hate giving low ratings to free extensions. Really, there is nothing to expect and anything is well received. However, I am at loss of how can someone spend time on writing code and then not take 1/2 hour to write simple instruction in what is effectively the most spoken language on earth - at least where computers are concerned. BTW, I am not a native speaker either.

Maybe, someone that has figured it out could write a short "how to" on this page?

This is the EASIEST most clearly presented RSS Syndicate Setup tool I have used! I was installed and adding feeds in MOMENTS - not even 1 minute!!

I work with a client managing oodles of content - some for sale - which we want to classify and present on his Blog and Podcast. Well - this was the perfect tool to present those items and freshen the list automatically with new offerings!

Thank you so much Run Digital!!

Even though the documentation is all in German, you really don't need much in the way of instruction to set this up.

The component loaded fine and it's very straightforward to create new feeds for any category or multiple categories.

I use OpenSEO and the feed included the OpenSEO urls without any problem.

The only minor glitch was that content that I'd put in to publish at a future date was also included in the feed (ie before the publish date). So anyone clicking through from the feed on this content got a message that they need to register.

There's practically no support, but this is a good component - it works as advertised! I use this component for my website. I found a website that explains how to produce live bookmarks: http://www.troozers.com/news/latest/firefox_live_bookmark.html.

In case the site goes down, it states to put the following code in the HEAD section (you may need to manipulate the link for your site):

This component does what it says it will & does it very well.
I am very happy with the way it works.

I created my own module to select a thread syndication url for users to copy, which i can duplicate & use for specific sections on my site. this is a perfect solution for sharing our RSS feeds with the world.

Just don't expect any help or reply from the developers, but thanks to them all the same for sharing....

This seems like a great little component, only it has one critical problem. The URLS that are mailed out which link back to content items are garbage, so users will be very frustrated, as they get "you are not authorised to view this page" messages, when the problem is actually that the URL in the feed is wrong. It seems to add a spurious item ID to the end.

To see it in action, see
http://www.acep.co.za/component/option,com_rd_rss/id,2/
try visiting one of the links. They don't work.

If this problem was fixed, it would be awesome.

A nice component.

However, I would like to see implementation of RSS information so that the RSS feed automatically comes up in browsers. It would be great if this was dynamic, so that if you have set up an RSS feed for a particular section the RSS will be just for that section.
