I'm installed it to my site and used post no 302 from developer's website to setup. I made it work finally. Would be good to add some text from article as well. Bad point is, that Facebook setup is quite complicative task.

Thanks for sharing such a wonderful plugin. I thought I got what I was looking for a long time, but unfortunately it is not. The idea behind the plugin is superb, sharing it freely is excellent! but improper and unclear documentation makes it of no use to anyone but few intelligent people but not for scrip kiddies like me. Wish you can simply capture the screen while implementing and make a video for the same for everyone's help.

Pretty good plugin.

Easy setup and publishes now to my business' Facebook Page.

AS mitchelt wrote, it would be nice if it:

- Created a short url
- Displayed XX amount of characters from the Joomla Article

And of course if it worked with Twitter as well. :o)

This plugin does not work. I am a tech and have tried to get this working on multiple occasions and multiple sites. It has destroyed on of my sites. Be careful and use it at your own risk.

You have t follow the steps on the developer page to make this work but since today the page is Vanished.

One problem is that No thumbnail of the article appears on the profile tab.(at least for me)

Otherwise really great jb. Thank you

I'm sure this program works great to a personal page. I was hoping I could get it to post to a fan page. Some reviewers said they got it to work. A lot of reviewers, including myself, could not. Good luck! Documentation is good enough for a personal page, but lacks for fan page.

Its too complicated to get it to work.

Suggestion:
1. It would be great if it just took the user name and password of the user to publish the article on to the users wall.

It's very sad that I have to give such a low rating, but it just wont work. I've done everything they said to do. My Facebook app is setup properly. It just will not connect. I get error after error. It's too difficult to setup. I realize some of that lies in the Facebook Dev process, but I had a Drupal site a year ago and was able to connect with Facebook with no issues at all using a Drupal mod. And it wasn't this difficult. I searched the help sections, tried everything I read (tons of other people has these problems too)... yet I could never get it working. Pity because this is the only non-commercial plugin for Facebook.

I think it has good potential... and I am usng ther Twitter connect plugin which works great. But this one just isn't ready for release.

Sorry for the bad review guys, but I have to be honest.

I see more and more ppl talking about the "AutoFacebook error - User must have accepted TOS" Problem..
Now i just tried myself, and got the same problem. Everything else seems ok. But the TOS are bugging me bigtime.
TOS= Terms of service.
And i have been through ALL the comments on developers docpage, and tried help from facebook. Nothing.
And the developer will not post any solution on he's page, or here. He/She is just referring to comments on the developers pages, or telling ppl to try facebook forum. This is NOT good!

Please make a solution, or just remove the plugin from here.

It's so frustrating that it seems to be so close to working for me but the Facebook application won't keep my values to allow the application to connect.

I would suggest that anyone looking to download this first checks out the comments on the documentation to see if it's working.

It may have been a recent change to Facebook that's causing the issue and not an issue with extension itself.

I have put a comment on the documentation and I'm hoping that the developer will respond when he has the time. I have spent several hours trying to get this to work and I'll wait now to see if I get a reply.

From the reviews, it looks like success is hit or miss. I was unsuccessful in getting this plugin to work - looks like Facebook has made some changes to their API, and the setup documentation is a little behind. I ended up choosing a commercial extension to accomplish what I needed.

With a little more work and some updated install/troubleshooting documentation, I think this plugin will be solid...

I gave this one a shot, but uninstalled. The plugin works if you follow the instructions and I even posted to a Facebook page (not personal profile), but the URL created by the plugin was not only long but incorrect. I found no solution for this at the developer's site although the problem had been previously noted.

I tried several FB auto-posting plugins and this one was the easiest to set up. If the plugin could use the correct SEO link, I would give it another try.

Note to others, It does work, you just need to follow the instructions, particularly at the facebook end.

The description of this plugin is very misleading. it says "just post on your website and the post appears on your Facebook status", well only the subject & link appears from your post, none of the content of your post does.
It also says "automatically post the title, a link and extra text of your Joomla! articles to your facebook status message." Well we should note that the "extra text" is just static text you set in the admin section, NOT text from your article.
This may or may not have been intended to be misleading.

If this plugin can be altered to include set number of words/characters from the posted article then it would be a truly great plugin
Good work, but please make the description clearer.

This plugin is totally fantastic! Easy install and good documentation. I would only make one suggestion and that is use Joomla's SEF Url's since the current ones are incredibly long.

Seems good but I found problems so many times... It's impossible to share on FB because show "AutoFacebook error - User must have accepted TOS".
Should be a great plugin...
Owner's reply

Hi Mr toscanello,

That message comes from the Facebook API. TOS stands for Terms Of Service. Please make sure you properly gave permissions to your Facebook app to post your status and that you accepted the terms of service.

Refer to the AutoFacebook documentation page, in the comment section you can find answer to many problems with Facebook that other users had.

You can probably also find solutions in the "Facebook Platform Developper Forum"
