AddThis helps website publishers and bloggers spread their content across the web by making it easy for visitors to bookmark and share content to their favorite social destinations. AddThis is fast, powerful and easy to install. Even better, it's free and offers sophisticated analytics to help users understand how and where their content is being shared.
AddThis provides two official extensions for Joomla! Both a plugin and module are available. We recommend installing and using only one. Both are fully customizable.
Don't forget to register for an AddThis.com account to see how your visitors are sharing your content: which services they're using for sharing, which content is shared the most, and more.
Both the module and plugin work great, and the addthis content works awesomely, i really like the custom button image option and the options for the toolbox.
BUT... where this falls short, and for me this is a big problem is the module version offers no Module Class Suffix support. I'm amazed that developers that create modules for Joomla are allowed to leave out such needed elements.

I tried to install the plugin v1.1.0 that I've waited for a long time, but I got an error from my Joomla 1.5.14: Error! Could not find a Joomla! XML setup file in the package.
To AddThis: Please continue support for this plugin/module! It's a vital addon for any website!

This was the second module of its type that I tried (tried TellAFriend first). It's simple and it works! Someone posted that you couldn't choose which pages it will appear on - but I don't know what they were looking at, because like any other kind of module, you have full control.
Nice plugin, but please update this plugin. (I use this version, not module)
What I found:
* addthis.xml: update language list (I not found hungarian, but on official page have this)
* addthis.php:
- update two links to this: http://s7.addthis.com/static/btn/v2/
- please add an option for button (before article, after article), if I need this button to after article, I changed this line:
"$article->text = $outputValue . $article->text;"
to this:
"$article->text = $article->text . $outputValue;"
Thanks for this mod!

I was looking for something like this, and it has a lot of great features. However, you can't exclude it from showing on the front page of an article (especially if you want to only show it after the Read More jump). You also can't exclude by category or section ID (helpful for items that make it silly to have). With these two things, I think it would be a five-star utility.
Although this is probably the easiest extension to install and activate, the fact that it appears on every page makes it not workable for me. I would have to {addthis off} on nearly 50 pages on my site, which is a waste of my time.
For a next version more choice on where to place the plugin would make it an unbeatable plugin.
But today, it has to go.

Wonderful tool, but because it defaults to adding the Share button on EVERY article, it makes it unusable for many of my clients. The time necessary to add "{addthis off}" in the majority of articles is unreasonable.
Here's how it could be improved:
1) Parameter to toggle on/off the automatic adding to all articles
2) if {addthis on} were used for those articles where the Share button is desired.
Possbily use this as a basis for a new extension called "Add This Here", which defaults to showing the Share button ONLY on those pages that include {addthishere} or {addthishere on} to those articles where it is desired.
Final recommendation -- add the Hide/Show as a parameter in the Article Editor - Parameters(Advanced).
