yvBBCode v.1.XX). It may replace BBCodes with HTML markup:
- on the whole page (so, you may use BBCodes everywhere, even in the places, where Joomla! natively allows plain text only),
- or only in your Articles (working as content plugin),
- or it may be used by any Joomla! extension to provide "BBCode buttons" for editor and replace BBCodes with HTML markup in text, generated by this extension (as an example, it is integrated into yvComment extension already).
The extension is customizable, so you may choose, what subset of BBCodes to use, what images are used for buttons etc. Read detailed information on the Homepage.
We use this plugin in the past for a web that need add some cursive and bold chars in the menus in 1.5, Now we have the same needs for 2.4 Joomla web even it still in Beta it does excatly we need and the most important keeping it very simple.

I used this plugin to add line breaks in my menu items. It was a real lifesaver, would have to alter my design otherwise.
the only con I see is that it also adds the line break to the breadcrumbs. Hopefully there is a workaround for that. But I am fully satisfied.

This simple idea made styling an intractable menu item a snap. I see many uses for it and it installs easily, is super simple to use and does exactly what it says. A 'toolkit' must have.
While the plugin provides a valuable add-on to the comment system, the plugins true worth is its abilty to create custom tags and replace code throughout the page, including menus. This requires some knowledge of editing code, but with some curiosity and an editor, most novices should be able to figure it out.
I use the plug-in on several sites to:

= Create tags to simply content layout
= Improve SEO of Menu Titles and Links
= Create to expedite formatting when entering content into an editor
