Logos Form and Report Manager for J! 1.5

LFRM is a platform for developing dynamic and powerful applications, and not just for websites. Data from the database can be formatted in many different output types (HTML, XML, JSON, CSV, etc). This added flexibility is beneficial not only to the business or organization using the application but also to its partners and customers who may need data in a certain format. LFRM also includes many other features such as:
* Automatic generation of input elements in an HTML form;
* AJAX presentation of data that allows users to navigate, group, and edit data within the browser;
* Ability to generate links to other forms and search results;
* An easy-to-use site and administrative interfaces;
* A comprehensive templating system employing views and layout files;
* Tools such as plugins and modules which allow the website administrator to place data in various parts of the website;
* Sample applications which can be imported and customized to specific requirements;
* A framework which developers can easily extend to fulfill business requirements.
The LFRM Wizard can assist developers in generating a basic application by creating the skeletal code needed to add, edit, publish, and delete records. This tool not only reduces unnecessary errors and efforts but also dramatically reduces development time and budget costs, which in turns increases work productivity and benefits the business end users and organizations down the line.
In today's marketplace, it is unimaginable for any business or organization with a web presence to overlook the issue of website performance and security. Here, LFRM adds more benefits through the use of Query Caching and Form Protection. Query Caching allows complex query results to be stored on the server, reducing the load on the database and thus, increases performance on the website. Form Protection greatly decreases the chance of hackers attacking the database to steal or destroy data, rendering the website totally incapacitated and customers' data compromised and used in unauthorized manners. These issues were on the mind of the creators of LFRM during the design phase and had been incorporated so that LFRM users will not have to work through these i
Thanks so much for the great support!
Gives you the ability to generate interactive forms and queries against your database with a little effort although the built-in wizard may be the answer for most people.
Be aware - you do need some sql query skills to get the best out of this extension.
Highly recommended and worth the asking price.
It is big and complicated, so the wizard is a great feature to help you hit the ground running. It will give you something to start with but the real power comes later when you learn all the features, of which there are many.
The product has many 'hooks' that allow customisation, you need to work at it to understand all the places it can be modified though....
The documenation while very extensive could be better. Have a read and see what you think, as the documentation is freely available.
With some work and focus, you can create very powerful applications.
I've been using it for well over a year, and in my experience nothing comes close.
However, there is a very steep learning curve.
If you're not sure, download the documentation (for both version 2 and 3) and see what it is capable of, you will also see in detail exactly how the product works. There isn't a live demo of the backend but the documentation shows most things, so by reading the documentation you'll have a good understanding of the product before you purchase it.
Also you must know SQL.
Note that you must read the documentation for both version 2 and version 3, even if you only want to use version 3. Also you really should do the tutorial (in the version 3 docs). If you don't do that, then you will have trouble using all the features of the product.
Support is very fast and usually addresses the problem. Ensure you search the forum, most things have already been asked before. Their forum search feature sometimes doesn't work so I use Google with the site: qualifier.
The other good thing is that the product is in active development, the author is always adding new features and addressing issues. At the moment a major new version is almost ready for release.
I've posted many many times to the support forum, and I've always got an answer that I was able to work with. In my experience the author will follow through with a customer until they have resolved the issue or got to a point they can't get any further.
Highly recommended but be prepared to put in the work to get the best results.
First, They claim to be a FREE extension, however to get it to work you conveniently need to purchase an additional library.
Second, there was no Trial Version that you could download. Of course there is a nice DEMO, that the author has made look very pretty, but the product is almost impossible to accomplish the demos without very intimate knowledge of the product. During the few weeks I was trying to get this product to work, I saw several posts in the forums requesting their money back, without success of course. Strangely those posts disappeared from the forums shortly after.
Third, the product is way under documented. The product is on v3 but the documentation is for v2. Furthermore the author was more interested in producing v4 rather than getting the documentation up to speed.
Forth, support is very weak. There is a support forums, but primarily only the Author answers posts and his answers are very vague. I personally believe the author uses the forums to feed his consulting work for people who get fed up with the product and just want to hire someone.
I will say this product is very powerful if the author would take the time to polish the product and make sufficient trials, demos, samples, documentation and support.
I regret that I couldn't help you more via the forum - some of your initial feedback was very constructive. Just to set the story straight:
1) Yes, LQM is a commercial extension, and few people ever request refunds ( only 1 in the past 5 months );
2) The Users Manual for v2 has been replaced with the Getting Started Manual for v3, and much of the documentation has been moved into the component itself;
3) Posts are only removed from the forum if they consist of abusive language;
4) I do not use the forum to solicit business, but requests such as customizations for specific business needs are not supported by the forum.
I'm not sure how you've concluded otherwise - but everyone is different I guess. I regret that your experience with LQM was not positive, and wish the best of luck with other extensions.
I'm almost done now and surpised how quickly its taken!
I'd certainly recommend LQM to anyone who wants to add database functionality to their Joomla Website - IT'S GREAT VALUE.
1. It incorporates one of the best AJAX libraries available today - ZAPATEC AJAX lib and that it even enough to by this component. It is worth every cent.
2. You get fantastic tool for easy development of forms in JOOMLA.
Creating very good looking grids is easy like never before.
3. Querying you database in variety of ways give you apsolute control over you data in database
4. You have got excelent support of the developer of the component.
What to say more, I highly recommend this component. it fulfills all my expectations.

The way that this sofware is conceived offers (with a minimum of work) the possibility to built complete applications, passing from query results to other query by links, or menu options.
PHP code permits to go farther in possibilities (in header file ie). I didn't know this language but some samples can be customised to obtain desired result. The support on the web site is good and fast and the development of new features is continuous.
This extension gives you the power to manipulate database fast, efficient and reliable. The adjectives written to the extension also is applied to the support that has a further advantage, the sympathy.
I'm a heavy user and recommend it ....
The author was very quick to answer to my questions posted on the gmitc forum.
I only wish the documentation was better - it would save me from searching the forum for answers that should have been there in the first place... otherwise, very happy with it!
Toby is really very helpful but the written documentation is really poor and not updated.
For example, the "connection" screen description is not corresponding to the reality.
Dealing with results presentation is a hell: css files are not documented (especially the Zapatec css)as they should be: I did a lot of trials to understand what class takes care of what but I am still wondering how they work!
So, a little bit disappointed by this component.... because one must be quite knowledgeable to be really performant.
The documentation is always updated for every major and minor release. The documentation does not cover, however, customizations such as customizing the results template and such customizations do require some knowledge of PHP and CSS.
This component allows you to build an application to query, filter, and update data using AJAX from the frontend. The built-in filters are a snap to use and make aggregate filtering a snap to use.
The power of this component is in it's initial ease-of-use, customization options, and modularity. Each aspect of the application can be configured easily from the default options, or tweaked into something very specfic by editing or creating files in the component's logical file structure.
Coming from DBQ, I heard the ideas tossed around for this component not too long ago. I am amazed to see a quality release within about a year of seeing that TCP was looking at integrating a powerful AJAX framework - the results are impressive and he has a lot more in store for us.

The product, the documentation and the forum support you get from the developer are excellent. I paid $60 to buy it, but if you ask me, it worth at least 5 times more.
LQM allows you to quickly create query forms (with great control over formatting) and results in Ajax tables with built-in sorting and inplace display.
New features in LQM that I particularly like is the ability to display LQM queries directly inside of content items and module positions. So you can create live content articles, displaying results from your database.
Then I started a database project for students registration, course, results and payment module. It started rather simple with a registration form and from there add the subjects for each semester and grades. Learn a bit of PHP to customize the delearship template for print output of each semester results.
I have opted for LQM approach cause in time there will be a few thousands students and linking the tables to a form or other output query seems a good idea. I guess it can get as powerful as MySQL in future version, tho with the present 1.1 version is enough for my project and there are still some other LQM capabilities that I have not used due to my limited knowledge in PHP.
The forum is a good place for answers from toby and also from reading members post.
I am new to this db design but I think I got a usable product so says my users. Imagine, they were using excel microsoft before this.
I have been wanting to learn MySQL and PHP and somehow LQM makes it easy.
