I had only a SMALL coding issue with the display of the plugin because of the site template i was using, it was very minor issue.

However i emailed the author and within minutes he gave me the solution to my issue and it solved it.

This is the best plugin of its kind that I've seen, and it's good to see it improving, but it still has some basic design failings: 1) the PNGs need transparent backgrounds, and 2) the calendar layout should not use tables or at least it should use them better.

As is, version 1.3 will break good, properly designed tableless templates, and it will probably not function well with any temoplate using overrides to replace the core/default com_content page output.

To make a quick fix you will need to remove the table width attributes hard-coded into the plugin's HTML output and remove the table/tr/td tags it inserts (and never closes) at its end.

I agree that the output need some work and I stated before that the plugin would break -at the time being- any template using overrides. I am working on a solution that would give the user the ability to edit the code from the backend or to choose default mode for overriden templates or default templates. Just the exams and life are keeping me away now.

You can check my idea on my blog:

Thanks for the useful review and If you have any idea or thought that would help improving the plugin I hope you don't mind sharing it, I am all open to discussion :)

Regards

For the first time the extension give me a problem with the language (my complete website is in spanish) I contact the support and he respond very fast and give me some lines to correct in my language pack and the extension work great.

thanks a lot
I absolutely love the design work here. The plugin operates beautifully!

Here's my issue - you specifically state that it's valid xhtml. Once installed and published it caused about 15 different validation errors. Because of that I had to uninstall (on the main site I was hoping to use it on).

Beside the validation errors, it works great.

The error was on the initial release. It's fixed now and validate correctly.

Great for display dates for a blog section or category. A simple and subtle, yet very eye catching and effective at drawing attention to what you would like your audience to read.

Allows you specify which categories to display and which not to. Good job.

Works like a charm. Several layout possibilities of the stamp. You can also define your own.
Needed some support and got that right away.
Very pleased with this indeed. I was (am) a fan of Calendar Icon and was disappointed when Tomasz didn't have time to improve it and make it validate.

Ahmad's done a great job here with 'Calendar Stamp', it looks great, validates and is easy to implement. He even did a turquoise version just for my site... thanks :-)

You're welcomed :)

Easy to configure and looks great. I would like to see a feature to make it follow the date display settings for each article. In some cases I just don't want a date displayed. Otherwise, very cool. Thanks to the author!
Owner's reply

That's a great idea.
Will do it in the upcoming version.
