eXtplorer is an excellent file manager and it is one of the few extensions that I install on every website I build and/or look after.

I only ever had an issue once and the developer worked hard to come up with a solution which only took a few days.

I hate it to run a ftp client and upload, delete move or rename while i do a parallel work in the admin of Joomla. I don't know why but it is like this. Therefore extplorer is my salvation. It is a genius AJAX- eye candy - file admin client. Keep on the very good work.

after i installed this component, i can not instal any thing else, i just tried every thing to solve the problem but nothing worked.

This made my life so much easier. I'm not the main admin and I'm often working on PCs which don't have a FTP software installed, so this is just god sent allowing me to get stuff done in the browser, like changing a CSS style in the matter of seconds!

have tried for several weeks to get this installed .. i got one email after a week saying to look for an ini file to change code to get it to work but the file he mentioned did not even exist in my package of explorwer... i dont understand why so many positive reviews on this when it does not install on joomla 2.5.8... ?

I needed an FTP client that would run in Joomla allowing me to work with files that I was unable to work with directly due to Apache permissions. This extension installed easily and allowed me to immediately work with those files that had previously been unaccessible to me via a separate FTP client.
Easy to use with no learning curve required!

I was struggling with uploading images in the image folders. I struggled for hours to upload the images, the default bulk uploader in Joomla (3.0) was not working (Chrome, Flash issues). Installed this component and was bowled over by the simplicity, user interface and ease of operations. Please use this, a must have.

Very useful component that I use for more than a few years, almost from the beginning. Nice that now support also Joomla 3.0.

This extension is really awesome, it's saves alot of time. The interface is very clean and intuitive, Extplorer works like a Charm and the support by the developers is real fast, I had a couple of questions and in a few hours received an email with answer.

This component makes life easier for administrators. But with all those benefits, comes the risk of opening backdoors. It's a dangerous task to open direct access to your sites files from the backend, you need to be absolutely sure on the security, but with carefull protection, it's a plus.

This is absolutely the best file management software you can find for the Joomla! backend. Not only is it simple to navigate through but the GUI (graphical user interface) is straightforward. Plus you can edit, rename, upload, and a lot more within the backend of your Joomla! installation. And it is free!

Thanks to this components I'm now able to create and edit all of my extension and templates without any need to use ftp or any other kinds of connections to my server which only makes it harder to edit files!
Installation is simple and usage cannot be simpler than this.

eXtplorer has a good interface, with very useful features, as zip and unzip directly on server. Easy file management. PHP, JS, CSS and XML editor (with syntax highlighting). Feature to manage permissions... More than once I had to use it due to permissions issues caused by having different apache and shell users. A favourite one.

This extension have many needed options and its the best file explorer for joomla.

but it lacks of integration into joomla and is very code inversive, have to be rewritten.

I have been using eXtplorer for several years (and many releases of Joomla), and it has been amazing all along. That they keep improving it is a testimony to the team that supports this most useful utility in the Joomla shed.

If you don't have access to a friendly file manager from your hosting provider, you absolutely HAVE TO HAVE eXtplorer because it lets you manage the underlying files to your site, right from within the Joomla administrator's page. Even if you do have file management access from your hosting control panel, you still can absolutely use eXtplorer, because it so convenient, and it lets you do just about anything that you need to do to files on your server. You can upload, download, edit, rename, change permissions, compress and uncompress files. And you don't have to log into the hosting control panel to do this. Just do it from within Joomla's admin page. You don't have to be a Linux geek to do anything to the files. It's all intuitive, point-and-click. Convenience and simplicity combined! I think that this is a must have extension.

It's so good, that my only concern is that if someone ever hacked into my admin account, they could use eXtplorer do anything to any of the files on my server. (But then again, if they hacked into my admin account, I'm already in trouble anyway.) So a good practice is to zip your Web directory regularly, and download the zip file to your own system. Of course you can use eXtplorer to do this with just a few clicks.

For some time now I have been suffering with the owner 99 situation with files, installed by Joomla and owned by nobody. (Will point out this is a server issue NOT Joomla) This made it impossible to delete files I didn't want .... until now. extplorer came to the rescue and i have now tidied up the awful mess I had. Stand alone or installed they work just as well. Thank you for a life saver extension.
