The Flash Module

Perfect module.
I copied the files to images/flash with all the external assets in folders and.. it worked right away. Thank you!
Technical note: My SWF loads external assets, but putting the assets in the same folder as the SWF doesn't work. Atypically, the external assets need to go in the root directory. After trying to place the assets in different areas (e.g. templates, etc) I found the root directory is where these assets need to be for the SWF to find them. Also, in response to some other posts, you have to create the folder to put your SWFs and then ensure your file path matches up in the settings.
For someone learning Joomla (having completed about 6 sites) I find this extension to be a vital extension for all of my sites. I plan on using this often.
If it took 10 mins from download to swf movie playing on the site I'd be surprised. Yes, you've got to type the path in and type in the file name - but it's not something you're not used to doing anyway, if you're creating different directories and paths for images, documents etc.
Thank you Michael Carico.
File path: default is "images/flash" in youre joomla folder. But the module doesnt make a folder by default so you have to make a folder called flash in youre joomla/images directory if you want default path to work.
Filename:the file name that is located in youre images/flash folder and add .swf too like "myfile.swf" because it doesnt work without it.
Thats what made my module work.
I have the same problem with a flash header that I created. Keeps telling me that I need you newer version of flash, but I have installed various versions of flash and it doesn't work. Please help this apprentice...
To those of you who supposedly got it to work, good for you. For those of you who didn't, I feel your frustration, especially after the hours I have spent trying to get this to work, reading forum postings, etc. Deleted from my plugin folder!
Sorry you are having so much trouble. The module options are actually self-documented using tooltips like most Joomla! modules (i.e. if you hover over the option title, it will tell you what it does).
Most of time I have found that the problem is with the path parameter entered by the user. Your path may need to be an absolute path (as opposed to a relative path) depending on your website's set-up and location. The module does not do this for you but relies on the user's knowledge of their website's set-up to make that determination. Usually a simple review of your website's code (viewing the generated HTML in a browser) will show if the path is indeed the problem.
Thank you.
