Synk

- This extension requires registration to download.
If you manage multiple sites and want to allow your users to use a single login id & password for *all* of your sites, then SYNK is for you. SYNK will synchronize the __users table in the selected databases (even across multiple domains) upon the user events you select, such as onLogin and onAfterStoreUser.
If you also want to synchronize your content across multiple domains, then SYNK is for you. SYNK will synchronize your __content table in the selected databases upon the content events you select, such as onAfterContentSave and onAfterDisplayContent.
SYNK also allows you to execute custom database queries on user and content events. Want to add a user to a new group upon their next login? Want to remove them from a group when they logout? SYNK can do that.
Here are some of the SYNK plugins available:
- Synchronize your Community Builder data
- Synchronize your Eventlist data
- Synchronize your Users with phpBB3
- Synchronize your Weblinks
If you can think of any other uses for SYNK that we haven't built in, let us know! SYNK is plugin-friendly, so a plugin could be created for it to make SYNK do anything... synchronize Fireboard forum tables, Ajax shoutboxes, etc.
whats the problem here, why it couldn't login in the right way?
i have a question about this plugin.i want to make a site that is used for sale and buy like amzoon and ebay but this plugin makes the users use a unique id &pass for all the site.
i want to use virtumart for my site(for example i synchronized two site with this plugin ) i have a question here ,for example if the user selects a product from a site example dress and add his basket and this user selects another products example lamp from other site and add his basket .
my question is here exactly that if this plugin can to synchronize the user،s basket and two products add the his basket.
thanks my friends
- deletions are not sync'ed on an article base, only with the batch sync mode (which is not advised with large sites)
- changes in the menu structures are not sync'ed
- status changes of articels are not sync'ed
The limitations are caused by the used Joomla event framework and can not be solved by the extension developer themselfes, of course. But if I read "sync of content" I expect a sync of the CONTENT of the website - and not only of changed articles.
The batch sync, which solves some of the issues, can only be initiated by timed events (hourly, daily, ...) but not on "do it now, please". Which makes bigger "go-lives" of new production versions of sites difficult - I have to sync my other upload activities with the time clock of SYNK... And, the developers themselves state that the batch sync mode is not advised for large sites due to the load issues caused by large scale SQL queries...
Also is the initial setup a bit laborious - why do I have to add predefined Joomla events by hand and activate the sync plugins manually? I would also expect predefined Joomla events and "default" synchronisations after installation - those would be simple to add, so why let the user do it?
After all - a useful plugin, but they still have a way to go.
It is really really great.
I have tow site one with SOBI2 and One with Jmember (joomsuite).
I was asking my member to do tow registration because I didnt wanted to install all the component on the same site.
Then I receive this mail (rss feed) from joomla extension.
I went on the site at 1am, tow hours later I have paid 39€ and both my sites are synchronized. I can register in one or an other and be member one the other.
I am not a pro.
If you need your user to suscribe on tow site just by it.
Easy and so far every things is working.
(Payment process + accessibility + rapidity)
I like this and I needed to say it.
Cheers
Now we have it, and it simply does what we need. It synchronizes users and contents among different sites.
It does it fast and cleanly.
Good work!
Hope it will be quickly done!
Thanks for the review! I'm not sure why you thought SYNK would synchronize your CB tables (or any other 3pd User Manager, for that matter) out-of-the-box when 1) the description above clearly states that SYNK synchronizes your __users table and 2) our SYNK FAQs page-- http://www.dioscouri.com/synk/faqs/ --clearly states that synchronizing CB tables requires the use of a SYNK plugin. Thanks!
This is a much called for database syncing component that actually works and is very reasonably priced. The Joomla forums are loaded with requests for such a feature. Hey folks, if you are making money with your site, support the authors!
Installation of the component and plugins was easy. Their instructions were simple and straight-forward and the component does exactly what the authors claim and more.
Syncing jos_user tables across multiple Joomla! domains ( ours are presently all on one server, so your mileage may vary) is now hands-off, and several sync-trigger options are included for specific needs. This component has finally released us all from the tedium of manual database syncs.
All configuration happens in the control panel - no config file to manually edit. The component can use the joomla db log-in or it's own db log-in, so you can create a user account just for Sync, and authorize it only for the jos_user tables for added security.
For busy sites, the admin can limit DB load by hour/day/week/etc.
The only caveat I could find: Sync only supports the jos_user table synchronization by default. Additional tables can, however, be synced by the use of the custom query option. Unless db query commands are in your skill-set, syncing additional tables could be troublesome. This can easily be overcome by the user with a little learning.
