This extension lets you quickly link to articles in your Joomla! site when you are creating content. You can either search for your article with the search box, or find it by selecting the section and category. Finally, the link class, title, relation and url are completely customizable, making Linkr the perfect linking extension for Joomla!
Linkr - The Link Creator
Extra features include linking to menu items, contacts and files. Linkr can also help you create bookmarking links and a list of links to other articles to incite your visitors to read more!
Supported Editors: TinyMCE, JCE, JoomlaFCK, FCK, TMEdit, XStandard, JXtended, XHTMLSuite, Xinha. (Other editors will have limited functionality.)
What's new?
-Stay up-to-date with the Linkr RSS feed (or disable it)
-Fixed bug where articles without menu links were sometimes given wrong Itemids
-Other minor improvements + API updates
Since 2.3.5
-Use sub-folders as root folders when linking a file
-Link contact pages instead of email addresses
-Use Linkr in other extensions
Since 2.3.4
-Link to anchors and article pages (pagebreaks)
-IE bug workaround where links were always inserted at the top
-Many bug fixes, code cleanup
Since way back when:
-Link uncategorized articles
-Option to only show file names when linking files
-Link to sections and categories
-Choose page format (RSS, Atom, PDF)
-Linkr est traduit en français!

This is something that should be integrated with Joomla!. Without Linkr I would be lost as to how to link to other articles the added bonus is the file upload and link feature. Bravo!!

Awesome!
As a newbie, I have to make proper sections and categories for my articles before I can use it. After doing so, it works great!
Thanks!

This might not be one of the first extensions you think of when starting of with Joomla, but boy how handy it is!
Very easy to install (don't have to do anything extra) and it will save you a lot of time when you have a lot of content on your website that you want to link to from other points of your site.
Two thumbs up! (more if I had them)

I have never rated any software but using this one made me feel compelled to do just that. Great job! I really do agree with an earlier poster that this should become part of Joomla core

A fantastic tool to have on each and every Joomla! site! Linkr and JoomlaFCK Editor make a "killer" combination! Highly recommended!
Cheers!

This is my first review, but I feel this extension deserves one. Installed quickly and with no problems, and does exactly what I needed it to do (and what it said it would do). I just started using it, so I'm sure I've hardly scratched the surface, but linkr is a great addition to any Joomla! site.
greatjob, its very quick & easy to install, and does the job perfectly. i like it

I have been banging my "non-programmer" head against the wall for months trying to learn Joomla!. I've tried many extensions that claim to make life easier but Linkr has proved the most valuable of any. If you're new to Joomla! and you want to cut a major learning curve, YOU MUST try this extension.
I was able to link up articles in minutes that I had previously worked on for hours.
Installed easily and worked perfectly the first time!
Thanks so much!

It looks well and I have great respect for the developer spending a lot of time for building an extension so far. Keep up the good work!
But I had to lose it because I didn't find the option to link to an anchor within the article.
See, I don't want users to be redirected to the top of an article but I want them to go to a specific part of text within the article. It looks like that this functionality is not in Linkr yet.
If, after all, the above functionality is still within Linkr then I was not able to get it to work. This means that, as a request to the ones who know how it works, if it's there, a short documentation in guidelines "how to" could help out a lot of people.
But once again, lot's of respect though!

That's a very low score! If you mean linking to anchors within the same article, most editors already do that. Linking to anchors in other articles is a good idea, and has been added to the "ToDo" list. If you have other suggestions, you can use the support page.

After getting 'network is busy' errors on my site, my tech guy at my hosting company told me the problem was with linkr:
"The main problem appears to be unoptimized MySQL queries. An optimized MySQL query executes in a fraction of a second and uses very little resources. We have noticed over the last few weeks, that your database has been under the top usage user for quite some time. I searched for the query which I see many times showing up in the top list of slow queries and am 99% sure it is the linkr plugin."
I really loved this component and plugin, but even I noticed a significant slow down when visiting my site for the two weeks I had it installed.
Hopefully this review, if read by the developer, can help them understand the importance of writing efficient MySQL queries. Once I disabled Linkr, everything returned to normal. Keep up the good work as I am looking forward to the next release that I hope will fix this deal-breaker problem. Thanks.

Thanks for sharing this. Maybe this has something to do with the Related Links? If you would be kind enough to drop by the support page and give more detailed information, like the features you were using, the Linkr version, etc, I think this could benefit a lot of people: http://codes.statsful.com/linkr/support
