I would love to rate this product as excellent. It looks wonderfull when working on the site and really would have made my life easier if it did what it says it does. On my site I initially had problems installing the script, it would not let me create extensions or site paths. As site was still in development stage reinstalled the site and then the script and the above two problems were sorted out.

Everything seemed to work just fine until I came to download an item through the site. For some reason the download added a large quantity of HTML and CSS to the top of the text file making it useless for my site. I have requested support on numerous occasions, Given the site owners access to my site as requested and reinstalled the script on 5 seperate occasions but still have no luck.

If this script worked the way it says it does it really will save you a load of time and effort, in my case it does not and the support from the script writers was and remains very poor.

I wish I could rate it high and give it maximum marks because the concept is excellent, the look is wondefull and the ease of use is very good, if it would only download files properly.

There is no excuse for charging money for a product that is still beta-level software.

The document import is just plain broken. Several attempts to add/import documents following the meager instructions failed.

Support was no help. While they did respond initially, they were unable to resolve the problem.

Based on my experience with the app and support I have given up on this one and will not consider any Joomclan apps in the future.

I rarely write reviews, but I was compelled to do so this time. Unfortunately due to the frustration of utterly failing to do what seemed to be so simple, install and migrate froom DOCman.

BACKGROUND: I manage a website for a major international think-tank, which has hundreds of PDFs etc managed by DOCman. However, due to the "legacy mode" issue, and some apparent upgrades in JoomDOC we decided to try it.

RESULT:

1. Installation works as promised. All green lights.

2. Migration does not work. The software stalls and hangs. Server 500 issue. Migration of categories and files seem to have gone through though upon checking the files and category sections of the component, its all there.

3. However, when trying to access the documents we get "Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 16777216 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 3 bytes) in /htdocs/libraries/joomla/database/database/mysql.php on line 462"

4. If you try migration more than once, you get dupes in your categories. It doens't check if there was a category with the same name before.

In the end, we had to uninstall, and thankfully DOCman was still working. I gave it the lowest rating because despite numerous install and uninstalls, checks, and double checks, we cannot get it to work.

Be VERY CAREFUL in migrating to this component on your live site if you have a substantial amount of data in DOCman, or if the data in there is critical to your site.

Despite all those, how I do not can well on an English language dot that's what I thought, that I write it the joomla under extension my opinion from themselves, because I am satisfied. The support express, the program perfect. Although the docman is free, but there, it is necessary to write everything in with a hand. Here no! Here, on all of them automatic. Was worth it to be extremely fond.

This extension looked pretty good but when installing on my localhost test setup I got an error when uploading files. My request for support was answered timely but it said:"Sorry we don't support development servers or test servers."
Assuming that people install this component on a live site without testing it before goes against any advise the Joomla community normally gives:" ...test before installing on a live site". Expecting this from a developer is unreasonable.
The developer of this extension should very clearly state this on their website so people can weight this before spending $35 on something that might or might not work.
I will use Remository instead!

Amazing! After purchasing this software for my website, I could never go back to life without it. All my issues and problems were solved and it is an extremely powerful tool. Download speed increased drastically which increased my productivity tremedously. Higly recommended and well worth the buy.

The support for this product is outstanding.

I had an installation problem in the beginning and they were quick to respond and help out.
The product itself is a fantastic download and management tool.
