I like so much this extension, I changed all my site to use this instead of Remository... Now I'm so so hungry because the update to 1.0b6 make me crazy. All directories and files are now duplicated, the only solution is edit them by mysql and change all categories by insert //namefolder. Doing this... all files are not editable.

I'm trying to come back to previous version but it doesn't solve my problem and now I've deleted the previous installer...

I think that "beta" doesn't mean "not tested". I'm a programmer too, and I think developer have not tested this version. So just a tip, don't upgrade your version to this.

I really like the concept and the gui... the frontend display options reminds on the joomla intro/maintext feature.

But i get so much rediculous errors and the folder creation and deletion is really buggy... it seems there are problems with the simple path devider here and there.

I would really love to use this easy download extension, but it seems unusable at the moment. i wonder how the other users live with it?!

I can achieve all most what I want to do with this component! But, the over 3 MB file cannot be downloaded... I can only download empty file if the file size excess 3MB. Except that, all functions are perfect.

Long time club member since they started. Good work for most of what they have and do. Good download software.

Hello. I try to use this component and it seem good, but the problem is that i cannot allow download for single user or costum group like docman.

This would be the perfect Download manager if there was an option for users to upload. Also I know this was a problem in the past but the file count just stopped working for me? I don't know what happened... and the only way to get support is to purchase a rocket theme account at a minimum of 60 dollars. Maybe the file count has stopped working because of something I have done but not sure. I did however update to the latest 1.0b4. But again not sure what broke the file count some files keep track and others don't.

I have tried all the download components over the years, and this one is truly the best. Ease of use, looks nice, and does what you would expect it to do.

I love this component, because it has a very nice look and it is friendly to use. But different settings doesn't work. For esample, if you try to hide items in the first page and to show them omly in the details page, they are completely hidden. I hope these bugs could be correct as soon as possible, because I tink this is the best download component for Joomla! site.

I was very happy with how Rok downloads worked. The interface could be more user-friendly, but it's still the best download manager out there. Definitely recommended.

i tried component and latest downloads and plugin to link item download in article and works fine.

This is Exactly what I was looking for! Now I am able to have folders with separate display names and physical names! Also it has auto import so simply put: Much better than anything else here!

RokDownloads is a very nice, simple, functional and easy to use download management system. Unfortunately the editor plugin that comes with it does not work with the latest version of Joomla, making it very difficult to include links in articles.

Love it when something just works great! One little thing that can be improved. Some people want to show the thumb of the file offered for download. Not just a zip or jpg icon. Please add some functionality so people can add specific thumbs for each file.

But please keep up the good work guys!

Product: Brilliant just what is says in the tin, no nonsense, simple to edit and administer downloads.

Support: This bit isn't for free, the forum is for members only, which you have to pay for, and email support is a no go.

Fortunately the problem I had is solved:

Bigshot Analytics's...make sure you use the latest version i.e. 1.5.2 otherwise there is a back end conflict Java conflict... and you cannot see the files, you uploaded.

I would leave this in the developer's forum...but its only for paid members DOH!

Tried nearly all other download extensions available on Joomla Extensions and found this to be by far the best for my requirements.

I especially like the simple ability to effectively categorise by folder, and then route directly to that folder from the menu system.

One improvement that would really work for me is if the files could be automatically published when placed in the folder. Users could then upload directly to that folder by ftp to upload, without any further action being required for other users to then download.

I have tried every component there is for downloads and RokDownloads is by far the BEST. Not too much, not too little and it works with MENU items.. single files or folders.. It look nice too. and the best is how easy it is to simply upload a file and go into the manager and publish it.

Not containers, not groups... just downloads!
