Thank you for this excellent module. I found it very straight forward to add and set up.
Highly recommended.

Very good functionality, well structured and constructed. JomDirectory shows its heritage as a real estate directory, but the basic functionality is good and the OOTB presentation is very nice.

I had trouble with the XML Bulk Import (it only handles one import document at a time). With the benefit of hindsight, I would have better off not using the XML import and just migrated existing entries by mapping them direct to the JomDirectory tables.

JomDirectory also gave me a JQuery version conflict that meant I had to uninstall another plug-in, but I can live with that.

I had to make substantial modifications to JomDirectory (mostly to Smarty template code) to meet my client's requirements, but once I understood JomDirectory's internal structure it wasn't hard to make the changes in a way that was consistent with JomDirectory's OOTB features.

There are two aspects to great software - a great product and great service. jomDirectory scores top marks on both counts.

Component itself very easier to setup and self explanatory configuring and start working. What stands out from rest is the Support. 10/10 for support and its very quick. Keep up the good work John.

This is one powerfull directory extension. As long as you know what you want. Editor and webmasters makes your job easy. I recommend it strongly.

Although I am extremely frustrated, I am not saying this to be hateful. I just don't think anyone paying 199 euros for software deserves to go through what I went through.

1st of all what they advertise is false. For instance the import function. It's not the standard xl file that you can import. You need to have serious xml programming knowledge to import records or pay them another 100 euros if you need that.

So I had to manually enter my 600 plus records only to find out more falsehoods.

Jomdirectory is listed as a directory, but it's not. This package was meant to be for real estate so the functionality doesn't work if you want users to simply list their business.

Users will be treated like an agency who can list many companies if they have the right number of points that you need to manage in the back-end.

Entering a price is mandatory for every listing. I know it doesn't make sense but this is just part of this confusing component that doesn't meet the basic requirements to be called a directory listing component.

I could go on but the point is do yourself a favor and don't pay for this. If you desperately need to get rid of money, I am willing to send you my paypal or you could donate it to any good cause. Buying this com will be a waste of time and money if you are looking for a directory listing extension.

Actually, I should have known. Anyone who knows their extension works fine will offer you a trial period.

To the programmers: I truly hope you manage to reprogram your component to make it work because it has some nice elements. I just think it's wrong of you to advertise it the way you do.

Just do like all the hard working programmers here do, spend the time to develop at least the basic requirements before you sell your stuff. Try to make a quick buck by renaming a com is just wrong and you know it.

i think this is definitely the best looking directory components out there out the box with a lot of user friendly options. as of date: 02/27/2012, right after i installed the extension, i noticed some minor glitches with the back-end which i didn't expect to have since it cost so much. 1 png reference and 1 .js refrenced to files that don't exists in the admin folder. in contacting the developer, i got a response, asking where? after i specified the exactly location already. i'm guessing the dev doesn't speak english that well ? i asked if the missing .js was just an accidental reference or a required script, since it seemed to work fine without it, got no response. so i dunno. anyways, ended up fixing it myself. i recommend the developer do some back end debug with firebug and figure out what's missing. something this expensive should at least have be error free on back end out the box all these error i mention is immediately apparent if you use firebug on the back end and start browsing around this extension.

i ran into some jquery issues also, had to do major jquery cleanup of all components and extensions and then force jquery to load in the map frame. i've posted it on the forum of this developer.

other than those issues, everything else is working fine. a fine component :-).

I've held off reviewing this product as I've had a couple of bad experiences with paid components lately which have really disappointed me.

This is at the higher end in regards to cost for components but there is a reason for that. It's a great product and the support is great too. I had answers over the weekend and they've logged onto my server to fix permission problems with files - something they didn't have to do.

Having used this now and given it a good test, I'm more than happy to recommend this to others.

They're so honest and so great with the support that I'm sure any kind of problem that you have with the software, they will solve it!

The support is always essential in any kind of software that we buy, and in this one, they're fast, kind and helpful, what actually is awesome!

Excellent component for creating product catalogues, I'd recommend it especially to those less naturally gifted directory creators. In this one the directory features are ready-made so preparing it all wasn't as time consuming as I expected.

Great solution for one-person company. I needed a good tool for creating a site for small business purposes. Great outcome!!! And mostly much cheaper than hiring somebody to do it for you. Much kudos for your work.

This extension is characterized by truly user-friendly construction and simplicity of operation especially when you add many features. I was also delighted to find the possibility to use multimedia and useful event calendar. Strongly recommend!

I needed the very best Joomla directory extension available for a Project. There's about few directories components out there, some are free, I went with the jomDirectory, since it was the most flexible and full featured.

Really user-friendly, me not being a geek. Easy to operate and mostly, to customize which is essential for me. Overall, money well spent.

I have tested some free and well known components and they failed to cover my needs. One of the biggest PLUS to that component is the way it looks. Amazing front page, great admin panel for my clients and easy to set up and use for me.
