Create newsletters for each directory type and categories. Manage subscribers for each directory. Allow subscriber to subscribe to multiple newsletters using the Newsletter module.

* Import Export app
Import / Export your categories, fields, entries to and from JoomD using simple CSV files.

* Subscription and Package Manager
Create your packages, define the limit of entries one can submit, set a time period and voila! Users will subscribe to your packages and make payment through Paypal.

The one feature that I REALLY needed doesn't even work. I need the ability to import a CSV file and, even though it says you have it working, I get an error message telling me to select a file to upload every time I try (side note, the file is based exactly off the export file so I'm pretty sure it's the right format and such).

Other than that looks like it would work but I don't have time to key in 3k+ records.

Waste of my time. Off to look for something else.

Almost Excellent if not the lack of Language support!
Default language of my site is French so I needed JoomD to follow... :(
I couldn't even find a language file so I could translate it myself!!!
In the Component description, Multi-languages Support is quite mentioned!

Desperate to have IMPORT function

JoomD is a great component. I'm using it for a website specialized in selling Car spare parts. I've thousands of spare parts which I need to import with SKU, Price, Short Descpription, Weights, Brand etc. And it will show when you search by SKU number in Search Resluts Page. It is mentioned that Import function is coming with version 1.3 and it was supposed to be coming on September 20th. Any news on that guys? I used Import function on a version 1.2 and it seems all the products were imported but after that when I go to manage entries I do not see anything, but when i go to manage category - it shows that specific category has number of entries - when you click that it doesn't show anything, from that point any new entry I add from backend is not showing up -just disappearing.

Never have had anyone such issue with the import function. will create a test for this problem. If able to reproduce it, we will definitely fix it in the next version.

May be you ca reinstall JoomD and create some dummy entries and then Export those entries with the Export function.

Then, use the same format to arrange your real data and then import it through the import function.

Easy to install, easy to customize, responsive support. IMO key features are the ability to import a list of contacts (csv file) and the ability to add a contact in the front end. I'm using this on a school site, just what my editors need!

JoomD v1.3 will have the plugins to display both search module and entries in the same content page. JoomD v1.2 does not have it.

Support beyond the call of duty

I just want to personally thank Danish and Irshad for their fantastic support. JoomD (v1.2) was the closest solution I could find on JED for what I was needed for my project. Sobi2 just seemed way too big and complicated to start customising for my specific requirements.

JoomD on the overhand was fairly easy to customise. I don't recommend you attempt it though unless you have some decent PHP skills. Otherwise you're best to stick to the out-of-the-box JoomD functionality (which is pretty decent anyway).

I had almost no problem in with my customisation, partly because the extension's code is written so well. However I did hit a few brick walls along the way and thats when the JoomD support team came to the rescue. I can't speak more highly of their professional and expert knowledge. Well done guys and thank you very very much!

Thanks for the review, Chris. We have just made a minor release v 1.2.2 for JoomD v1.2 version covering issues like Import functionality, WYSIWIG Editor Image tag fix, SQL comma issue while importing data etc.
What we aim is to make JoomD the easiest, simplest and the full-featured Directory extension.
I hope the next major release, JoomD v1.3 will help us realize that goal.

A Powerful Extension with Endless Capabilities

JoomD is a great component to use to create a powerful and very appealing directory for any Joomla website. The moment I first seen JoomD, I was astonished by how professional and appealing it looks. It is very easy for the front-end users to use. Even in the back-end of the extension it was absolutely amazing. You can easily add information to your web directory created with JoomD in a matter of seconds, since it is so easy to understand. It also has its own search feature, making information extremely easy to find. The extension is highly professional and seems fully developed. The JoomD extension is also highly functional. The back-end users have an option to be able to import and export data. JoomD provides almost endless capabilities, and just the moment you think it has all the bells and whistles… think again. Joomla6Teen seems to be getting ready to release a new version adding more features. This by far seems like one of the best directory extensions offered. I can not wait to see what V1.3 has in store. Overall I would definitely recommend JoomD for a website directory.

Highlights: easy to use, professional, easy to understand, quick to update, very appealing, powerful, almost endless capabilities, flexible, simple, and highly functional.

Thanks for your wonderful review. We are working nights and days to release the JoomD v 1.3 by 20th September. That's our deadline.

Almost 50 new functionality for v1.3 and another 100 or so modifications from the existing version.

Things I like about Joomd:

Simple-yet-sophisticated Backend Interface
Great flexibility in creating and publishing entries
Thoughtful configurable options
Very easy import functionality

Things I wish in the next version:

Map plugin
Radius Search with US zip codes
Ratings and Commenting options
option to sort by Alphabets
a template manager to easily change the design for someone like me with limited CSS knowledge

Apart from this, I am happy with it and looking forward to the next version.

Great extension with loads of capabilities

Great extension by the boys as Joomla6teen. I had a small suggestion and Irshad added it within a few days and said they welcome feedback and suggestions to improve the extension. They assured me they are always looking to improve their extensions but it does the job just great at the moment.

If you want a flexible directory then JOOMD is your extension. It enables you to add custom fields which means it can be tailored to suit any type of directory you could imagine.

Well worth the $15 as it has saved me a heap of time.

Your ideas rock! They have been included in JoomD v 1.2 and I am sure Joomla users will like it.

And it is not just custom fields which let you create any kind of directory but there are features like Include each custom field as a Search option, Choose or Design your own template to match your site and many other features coming soon in the next version.

In the next few days, we are going to release two consecutive versions of JoomD.

I am really loving it! Immersed in the thought-process and further innovation for our apps.

Thanks for your wishes.

Yes, we have almost 25 new functionality to be added in the next version, JoomD v 1.2. It includes WYSIWIG Editor as well. There are functionality like CSV Export/Import, Option to display entry to registered users only, Social Bookmarking functionality, Choose your template feature and many more.

Google Maps plugin is due for v 1.3 which we will be releasing just a week after JoomD v 1.2.

Excellent but cannot figure out how to see the directory on the site. After I set up the backend and start adding entries, I dont see how to create the directory page or if I need to...

Thank you for this extension, it is exactly what I was looking for namely to create a directory of distributors, wholesalers and retailer all over Australia.
Easy installation and easy setup but I do struggle a bit with the custom field settings and went looking for that documentation using the button supplied here.
Unfortunately, I could not find it.
