You can easily write and and edit to the xml file with the built-in 'Add Entry' feature for administrators or do it manually.
A very simple and lightning fast way to access a public or private directory wherever you go.
The fields that are available are just not sufficient. You can only enter the name, address, one phone number, and an email address for each contact. There is no way to link to a website nor can you add additional phone numbers. There is no "directory" of all your contacts. Unless you know the name of the person you are looking for, there isn't a way (as far as I could tell) to list all the contacts in the database.
Needless to say, it wasn't what I had hoped for. When I wanted to uninstall it, I realized there is no official way to uninstall it. It isn't listed anywhere in the Extensions Manager. I went to the authors website and posted a question on their forum. I got an answer within 6 hours which was nice, but the author locked my forum question immediately and wasn't allowed to ask any follow up questions. The authors response was to uninstall it via the Extensions Manager (which I had explained isn't listed anywhere in the Extensions Manager) or manually delete it.
Bottom line, the only way to uninstall it was to log in via ftp and manually delete the module folder. I'm still rather new when it comes to Joomla, so I hope that doesn't mess anything else up.
The Phonemap uninstalls, and when you told me otherwise, a bell went off. I assume you do not know how to do that and I am too busy to be your free tudor.
This module was FREE and was written to write names, phone numbers, an email and an addresses to an xml file; just like a typical phone book listing with the map. I did not write a delete file yet since I have so many other projects taking priority. But deleting xml entries manually only takes a second.
I wrote this so I could put in addresses on the fly that other friend's could find.
The module is good as is. But, the problem I see is that you blame me for not making it for you. I made it for me and shared it for FREE.
All those changes you wanted would take a few hours or so if you had the coding skills to make those changes.
I recommend you do one of 2 things;
1)Find what you want elsewhere without harrassing others
2)Learn to code so that you can do what you want yourself.
