The Joomla! Extensions Directory ™

All Weblinks ModulePlugin

The ALL_WEBLINKS extension is made to fix some short comings in the default Joomla! component.

With this extension you can show links in various layouts, Show all categories in one page, or specify which ones to show, display if a link is new, show the description as a tool-tip or below the links, Display the category description below the link, Hide the category title.

The extension comes in 2 flavours:
1. A plug-in
2. A module
With the PLUGIN and MODULE you should still use the weblinks component to manage your weblinks.

You can choose to use either one or both extensions

1.: Plugin[Development by my]:
You should use the plugin if you want to show weblinks in the content position.
The plugin V3 can also show the links in Tabs or Slider layout

HOW TO setup the [more links] option please read this WIKI:

2.: Module[further development by Carsten Schneider]:
You should use the module if you want to show weblinks in a module position.
The module can also collapse categories
Module also available foir Joomla V3 (thx to Carsten S)

I used the module for some years and was now relaunching the site. I have to use the plugin now, but still easy, flexible and with all the features needed in the sidebar.

Hi Carsten created a Joomla 3.x version for the Module please check it out

I wish I had implemented on my own site (and shall later). I wanted something less generic for my volunteer site and this app takes care of it!

There are so few options in this category and how nice that the one that stands out is FREE!

Thanks developer!

Really what I was expected.
A very good idea to turn the weblink component into blog or colunn presentation.
Very simple to use and also usefull for a community who wants publish resources.
Good Job !

Well, the output-markup is quite bad (what am I supposed to do with all those -elements without classes?) and there are very few css-classes for custom layout but it works out okay. It's a useful enhancement on the Joomla standard weblinks component.

If you want weblinks section on your site - try this extension. It greatly extend native Joomla weblinks component and gives many styles and options for presenting.

Works ok, but it obfuscates the links (href is an internal script), and the CSS can't easily be overwritten. Of course, Joomla's built-in tool is completely useless compared to this.

Haven't found anything like this. I'm using the plugin and it was extremely quick and easy to set up. Great options. Looking forward to updates.

Im so happy I found this one. I also agree this should be build into Joomla. Will use it on many sites from now on.

I also had difficulties to find the documentation but once I found it only took 10 minutes to set it up and do the necessary css changes to get it working with my responsive template. Great Work!
Owner's reply

On the extensions page there is a button called "Documentation" this should lead you to the documentation-WIKI on JoomlaCode

If you have extensive link sections, I would really recommend using this plugin. I formats your links very nicely and you can organize lists exactly as you want. Something allowing that sort of output should really be part of the Joomla! core.

This plugin does just as it states it does, but to get it to work is tricky in the way on how to actually activate the thing.
i spent hours before i actually discovered they have a user manual on their site. after that everything was a breeze.

Developers website provides alot of help, but a word of advice to the developer. make your site less cluttered and more obvious where to find help and user-manuals :)

this is the only reason i gave it 4stars and not 5.

On this site there are DIRECT links to the WIKI, Forum, Download and DEMO locations.

It shouldn't be hard to find what you need, and if you've ran into problems, a simple mail or forum-message to me should solve most of them. I Monitor the Forum daily

But have fun with the Plug-in.

This plugin does exactly what I need for my site and after asking for an extra functionality for highlighting a new weblink by creation date or modified date, John sent me a modification in 1 day and it works perfect!!
Thanks again for this great support for a free extension! Keep up the great work!!

Great weblink addon just what we needed. This does work on 2.5 if you follow the installation instructions provided and be sure to install both the plugin and the module. Thanks for a wonderful free feature to any joomla weblink page.
Owner's reply

If you install, plugin V4.0 it shall work on 2.5

It states it works in Joomla 2.5 but it doesn't. Installed the plugin and it says 1.6/7 and none of the links say 2.5. Their website is horrible to find anything and layed out very poorly. I tried posting in their forums but I am not sure I was even in the right sections because their is no structure at all. I also received no answer back to my post but I still have yet to even find my post to check. Very Dissappointed!!!!!!

I've just installed the module on Joomla 1.7. It's excellent, but some of my links have descriptions and Joomla's Weblinks module saves the descriptions with HTML tags - like this description text. I can't find any way to stop it from doing that - maybe I'm just not looking in the right place.

The tags appear in the little popup description too and it looks rather untidy. Is it possible to get rid of the tags, please?

Thanks for a great extension.

Hi, is there a way to set the columns in the module: two instead of three? Potentially a usefull module, but styling could be easier and have more standard possibilities in my opinion.

its very good component.
Bud Weblink uses all the available categories and links for joomla itself.
And optionally displays the description in the popup text.
But now let the popup display text seen between characters, which is unsightly.
Is that changing
Owner's reply

The last versions of the plugin doesn't show the HTML characters in the pop-up anymore

this it a good component but with joomla 1.7.3 the increment of the hits don't work. (I use the module).

Thanks you for the component and the partage.
Owner's reply

Please Use the forum for bug-reports.

But the Hit counter is repaired in both the module and the plugin.

Recently upgraded from 1.5 to 1.7 and the Weblinks are awful on 1.7. After some searching and testing I came across this Plugin and WOW! So easy to install, use and configure. It has various layouts, the tabs is great and easy to adjust the styling via its own css file. Cannot rate this high enough - well done to the developer.

This extensions is pratically the only one dedicted to the weblink management than workis with joomla 1.7 and is not commercial. The default Joomla component is so poor to be considered pratically useless cause most users need a better way to show their multiple links divided into categories anche put on the screen with different layout. this is what this extension do. But the best thing concerning this extension is the quick support by the author. In fact I found 2 problems that were fixed in 2 days.
