Pdf documents are made with Jooma!'s core class tcpdf. You can customize the document template as it is separated from the logic.
YOU DON'T NEED TO HACK YOUR VIRTUEMART INSTALLATION!
VIM is a true component and you install it like any other Joomla! components. A simple configuration page let you customize the script to fit your need.
VIM manages company and personal tax registration number (extra_field_1 and extra_field_2 of #__vm_order_user_info db table) and are automatically included in invoicing address.
Languages supported: English, Spain, Italian, German, Dutch, French, Romanian, Slovenian, Russian, Danish
The component works very well but I needed some customizations for legal invoice in France.
The tech support is simply awesome, tickets are answered sometimes in minutes !
Everything i wanted to do with the component was made possible by the support team.

One of the reasons why I decided not to use CCVAOM was that I wanted to create delivery documents and invoices seperately. That was when I found out about Virtuemart Invoice Manager.
With this component you have actually a lot of possibilities to customize your invoice templates, as I said you can create delivery documents and invoices seperately, mail them instantly to the customer or save them as pdf files for printing. Or you can mail invoices/delivery documents via email.
You have a perfect overview over orders, deliveries, invoices (all with seperate numbers) and you can create partial deliveries (if you don't have the ordered quantity in stock).
There is a lot to config, like in CCVAOM you can inform customers automatically about order status changes..
You see there is a bunch of things you can do with this Component, and best of all the support is simply awesome!
