The extra navigation bar should be put into a module, or be made more friendly to templates with a "thin" body.
Overall Great
Thankyou
Paul
Thanks for the review and your suggestion. I'm will add that functionality the All In One Module.
Being a Scotsman I find it difficult to part with money, but this component was so good that I instantly sent a donation.
Thanks for the review!!! I'm glad to see that it worked for you. Also thanks for the donation. I'm working hard to make Maian Music better and allow people to be able to promote there websites. There will be a lot of changes on Are Times by the end of the year.
A few technical problems i.e. when I change the price of the music in an album, it doesnt save all the changes made. resulting in me having to delete the whole album and add. (same if I wanted to change the option of single purchase - it doesnt save all changes per track).
Also, when singles arent allowed to be purchased individually, it says 'not available for download.' which may confuse a lot of buyers. especially with the 'no entry sign' symbol next to them. Something more like 'Not available for single purchase' would make more sense and a slightly diffrent symbol, like a blue arrow.
Also, it would be great if there was a clear-cut way to add the album to cart - a simple 'ADD ALBUM TO CART' button, and/or 'BUY NOW' button would really improve it all round. The current 'Add All Tracks to Cart' way doesn't really grasp the essence of adding an actual ALBUM to cart.
One more thing also, the albums listed in my store sell for i.e £9.99, it contains 15 tracks at £0.79 each. In order to make the album £9.99 I have to find a very particular percentage in order to make the whole album £9.99 and it tells the customer they are saving 15.6% - which leads to confusion cos that makes them assume that the album costs 15.6% more in other stores - all in all it would be great if the price of an album can just be typed in (i.e. 9.99) and maybe a possibilty of a special or sale price.
I look forward to updates or newer versions and hope you consider some of my points/suggestions.
I look forward to giving more generous donations too.
Thank you
Thanks for the review and honest feedback. I am going to make some updates in future versions as well.
Follow the instructions for setting up paths to downloads and previews carefully, but don't be intimidated. It's pretty straightforward and there's plenty of help on the support forum.
I customized the CSS for the component and it fit into my page seamlessly. There are great tools available for those unfamiliar with CSS (Such as CSSEdit, etc) that will allow them to do the same.
Give Maian Music a try, and if you like it, kick a little something back to the developer. After all, it's free!
Please make a donation to- www.aretimes.com -he deserves it!
The site I built using Maian Music: www.g7rap.com
I,m really impressed with this application, i have tried several top name carts and had nothing but bother or was lacking in customer support..not this ap creator, This by far blows them away and works great.
Don't bother looking for any other applications for selling your mp3s online
THIS IS BRILLIANT/SUPERB/FANTASTIC/ESSENTILA FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS TO SELL MUSICMP3S ONLINE.
Forget Itunes use Maian Music and best of all
It does exactly what it supposed to be : let you sell mp3 on your website, it includes preview, etc. Great job...
Second, the support is litteraly amazing. Iv never seen such a pro, available and quick support for a non commercial extension. Great support
Greatest ! big up to 'Ace' Alao.
Support is excellent too. I have had a couple of questions(not problems) of the developer and they were answered very quickly.
I'd definitely recommend this add-on if you are looking for a simple but elegant way to add paid-for music downloads to your site. Hopefully soon there will be a 1.5 native version available, I'll be keeping an eye on the development of this very useful component.
There are many musicians like me running Joomla and waiting for a working solution, under GPL license, to have a little corner integrated for offering a few MP3 downloads.
I established VirtueMart just because there is nothing else
and I can`t describe how painful it was. I will never do this again ... So my 5 stars as a general statement for the fact someone is going into this. My current testing was a short one, since I cannot install on 1.5 legacy. Error: XML Parsing Error at 334:61. Error 23: EntityRef: expecting ';' ... I will be excited to see this available for 1.5 native
Thank you omkar. I didn't test the installer for 1.5 which is what is causing the error. I am going to fix this A.S.A.P. Thanks for the reivew.
