Like another reviewer I really wanted to like this extension. It promised exactly what was required but didn't deliver.
It is very untidy where non-recurring payments are selected and requires the user to open a PayPal account. It then takes a payment, sends an email to tell the user and admin that a recurring payment has been set up then immediately cancels it and sends another email to say that it has.
For the user this must be alarming and it would put me off dealing with a website that uses it.
Also, if the passwords don't match on the entry form, it exits unhelpfully to the Joomla default error page with 500 Error. Once again, this would put me off using the website.
Not least of all, the vendor's website offers a 'support ticket' option but this just brings up a 'Internal Server Error' so I had to use the normal Contact form. No acknowledgement and no support so far but there's a 10 day money-back guarantee?
I hate writing bad reviews but having paid for a commercial extension I expect something more than unfinished software and no support.

I really wanted to like this, but unfortunately it simply doesn't work if you set it for a non recurring payment. In short PayPal sends the End Of Term subscription cancellation at the same time as it takes the initial payment.
The plugin also needed some logic tests commented out to get it to work.
Its been nearly 2 months since I first identified the issues and fed back to the "developers".
Still no sign of any fix .

I've been looking for a component to handle subscription for a while now - Needed something that was quick and easy for the front end user (enter details - pay - done! - then automatically bill each month) and that's exactly what this component does!
It also comes with a plug-in to restrict your content to members only - just redirect the "read more" to the login page.
Had a couple of questions before buying and the Joompolitan Team responded quickly answering in depth.
This component is super cheap for what it does after paying, I was immediately sent to download the component.
I then installed and followed the video tutorials in the guide to setting everything up and within 15 minutes it was all done!
Tested the component with a real customer taking payment and it all works fantastically well!
Would highly recommend this component to anyone selling subscription to their site, it's a bargain, works really well and the support from the developer is first class.

I purchased this subscription manager after having difficulty with other options. Trust me, I tried many to no avail. What I was trying to do was have customers come to my website, purchase a subscription, than after the payment was approved by PayPal, their account becomes active.
I had some trouble and their support staff helped immediately and worked with me until we had it up and running as promised.
I tell you, if your looking for a subscription manager, let this be where you search ends.

I was looking for a way to easily use paypal to make a site Joomla site subscription based. Suprisingly, I couldn't find what I was looking for until I found this extension. I installed this extension and got excellent and immediate support. Even weeks later, whenever I have a question, I get quick and thorough support!! We now have over 120 subscribers and this extension is nicely managing them all. Sweet extension.
I had trouble installing it...and when I finally got it installed, I followed the info on the 'guide' tab in the component, and it wouldn't work...I had to mess about with some options and items, and finally got it to work with some PayPal buttons in a content item. But then, when testing it, it would only list the transactions that were done with a credit card at PayPal, not the PayPal account Payments...and then, it would not send the download link, and I couldn't get that code to work, so I could only send the document as a link on the email, but some of the files that people download from my site are too big to send by email, so that wouldn't work either. I tried contacting them twice, but I still have not gotten a reply or any help...so there is no way for me to try and get it working. So, in the end, I had to dump it from my site, and paid money for nothing. I wouldn't suggest getting it until they at least have some kind of support forum or better way to get support and help for it. It's just not intuitive for all in terms of getting it to work.
