This extension is very easy to learn and extremely useful. In an hour I had more effects on my site than an entire day of coding the java script manually. I highly recommend this extension especially if your clients don't have a lot of experience with coding. The only setback I had was with Google gears.. I am not sure if it isn't compatible yet with Firefox 4.11 beta or what but I had to use IE for the editing. Not a big deal, I am sure it will be fixed soon. Thanks Nick for this awesome extension.
'JoomEdit' is a clever and convenient way to deliver your deployed 'jQuery', even if you don't know any 'jQuery' whatsoever, into your 'Joomla!' page(s). Its great to have that extra level of functionality. It does require a bit of CSS knowledge. But I guess most people reading this are going to know some CSS anyway. Overall, it can be a bit tricky to begin with, although after a short while, you can quickly understand how to add some 'bling' to your webpage.
I managed to open and collapse parts of my form webpage in a 'accordion' style. I never would have done that so quickly without this component. I'm very pleased! If feel like I've got a new toy!

As an experienced web developer I was surprised to see a tool that is so complete and advanced yet so simple to use. Some of the interactions that JoomEdit offers are based on fairly complicated javascript and DOM maipulation. The average user wouldn't be able to execute this kind of interaction on his own, much less those who are just getting started. With this tool users can add quite complex functions to a website with little to no knowledge of the javascript language.
I would recommend this extension to any user that doesn't want to spend the time and effort it takes to learn javascript to add some great features to their sites. It is recommendable as well for those experienced users who want to save development time by not having to worry about going through lines of code to add new capabilities to their sites.
