For the first time you don’t need a special Joomla Mobile App to upload and manage your website on your iPad or on your iPhone! This is because the JCK Editor is now responsive in Joomla 3.0!

This approach suggests that design should respond to the user’s behaviour and environment based on screen size, platform and device. With the newly designed dialog screens the editor now offers support for the new IOS 6 file upload which wasn’t possible in Safari until now!

★NEXT-GENERATION GRAPHICS
We've taken the Editor to the design shop and married creative and technical disciplines into a truly beautiful and user-friendly interface. Your find it easier to use, more productive, a tool which aims to put the user in the driving seat.

★CUSTOMIZABLE INTERFACE
Everyone likes to edit their own way, so we’ve made it easier to adjust the JCK interface. Re-arrange, organize, add or remove buttons or change the colour of the skin in the editor’s parameters.

★SUPER-FAST PERFORMANCE
Fasten your seatbelt the API engine has always been fast, but this is the fastest ever! It gives the editor dramatically better performance than ever before which means, web editing will feel snappier and more responsive. It’s astonishingly 18x times faster at loading than the JCE Editor – having only a tiny memory footprint, so users can work faster and be more productive! But hey - if you don't believe us, why don't you give it a try and see how fast you can go?

★STATE-OF-THE-ART INTEGRATION
Its much more than an out-of-the-box installation of the CKeditor! We’ve been under-the-hood and joomla-ised its logic into a seamless and extendable integration. Users can now choose what plug-ins, tool-bars and shape its architecture in all sense of the word - with ease!

★LARGEST PLUGIN REPOSITORY
Plug-ins are the cornerstone of customisation, letting you personalize your editing experience. These apps can be used to quickly and simply expand the functionality of the editor and with the largest growing extension base of all Joomla editors, you'll be able - to do much more…

★MANAGE YOUR FILES IN ONE PLACE
Upload images and files, view thumbnails in one place without needing to navigate away! It doesn’t stop there as Joomla! user groups can have their own personal folders, which can be used in a verity of ways! For storing online documents, for nested folders, for relative links to media, flash, electronic documents and image files. The best part is its simplicity - it’s useful, fun, totally

Very easy to install. Very easy to use. It loads quickly. It's very complete. It's free.
The "insert picture" works very well, and give all the main options for alignment of the picture within the article.

I would have give it 6 stars if it allowed to insert a mini gallery ... maybe in the next version. :)

Thanks

I really like this editor. It is much cleaner then the original and I like the template features that are built-in. I only have one issue but it does not effect my rating as it has nothing to do with build quality more of UI and that would be a submit button while in full screen editing mode. You have to exit full screen mode in order to see the save button.

All in all great editor !-)

I have migrated from JCE, which is bulky, often cumbersome and sometimes buggy. Nevertheless, JCE was still the best editor of its time, but with the FCKeditor making its debut, the title goes to FCKeditor.

This is in spite of FCKeditor not yet having a file manager, but it does boast an image manager upload utility, which is easier and more intuitive then JCE's offering, which is essentially a plugin. FCKeditor is simple to use and install and has a nice template system. Downloading, installing and putting it to use only took approximately three minutes tops. It is simply the best. Thanks.

The author claims compatibility with Opera 9.5. At the time of release of this bot, the latest version of Opera available is 9.25.

Furthermore the editor isn't compatible with Safari at all.
Owner's reply

The editor is compatible with the latest release of version 9.5 beta; this was in fact released prior to our claim! The exciting news sees the Opera team working the editor to resolve incompatibility issue with the browsers! These advances are only implemented in the latest beta of Opera 9.5!
The latest release of the JoomlaFCK is compatible with Safari 3.0+ but as different configuration very we are happy to work with those willing to post the problems on the official JoomlaFCK website. This is because it is difficult to resolve any problem you might be having without knowing more information?

First: A very very fast Editor (I don't think it's good idea to use any other in presence of this Editor)

Second: Normal FCK Editor (without Joomla) shows a lot of Style Lists, like emphasis,big,small,Marker:Yellow,Marker:green,......

All these Styles are not shown in Joomla Component of FCK Editor.

I tried to fix it, but failed.

I believe these Styles are very important and Joomla Plugin of FCK mush have this feature too.

Beside this, I have no other Issue and still this Plugin gets Full Rating from me.

I like this editor a lot, even compared to JCE Editor what I think is good too. Must say though that this one is a bit sharper. Nicer and easier navigation, easier to install, nicer skin. Very good job! Thanks!

Wrong links when embedding images.

Note: the useful feature of linking to an Article through a dropdown is not present for the 1.5 version.
Owner's reply

Had a bit of a problem with the install, but tryed the beta and it went in, it seems to be "hands down" a very impressive alternative to the standard editor. The back end interface is great, no more having to carve out image links by memory

thanks fck

I gave this the highest rating possible since it loads alot faster than JCE and has just as much feature. Most importantly, its free! I've since reverted to this editor ever since trialling began. Was on JCE prior to that.

Suggested improvement is to allow popup windows when clicking on images as oppose to a new window.

Excellent work!

FCK editor is a wonderful wysiwyg editor, but it still lacks some of the key features that JCE has. There isn't a file manager system, and there doesn't seem to be a plugin system to add additional features. Now FCK looks nice and clean, and works very well. In the short time that I used it, I didn't find a way to remove/rearrange the buttons on the toolbars.

An very good editor, however I think that its biggest downfall is the lack of a File Manager for files other than .swf.

i've just downloaded this bot. it looks good so far.
i haven't tested it yet (haven't got the time to play around with it) but it looks promising from what i've seen so far.

as described, the interface looks like MS Word which helps a lot for users who are not familiar with Tiny interface.

the best bit is it allows users to upload file onto the server from front end which is what i'm after as i don't want to give users permission to access the back end.

i highly recommend this bot/component.

Its an excellent editor. Nice and easy to use with action packed image handling. I have a problem with the width setting of the editor but there are options in the settings so that worked out fine.Highly recommended extension

FCKEditor is by far the best Joomla! content editor. Toolbar looks clean and has lots of editing features. What you see is really what you get, which isn't the case for most of the other free editors out there. Documentation is sparse, but the technical support is excellent. The only minor complaint is that the "insert picture" from browsing the server doesn't preview the pictures as you click on them. But other than that, I highly recommend this text editor to anyone!

I have used JoomlaFCK 1.2.0 now for one year in several Joomla installations. I just upgraded one site to use the newest 2.4.4, but it had several problems with IE 6.0 and the file browser didn't work so I had to fall back to 1.2.0. That version is still solid enough and has served my customers' nicely.

This editor is not recommended for sites where folks who are used to writing material using Microsoft Word or any other popular word processor will be contributing articles. The range of fonts and font sizes available to a writer is far too limiting and small. joomlafck2 is a bit better and JCE is best of all for sights aimed at serious writers.
