This is a Joomla 1.7 Native component+module that enables you to search any field in CB (Community Builder). Using this component you can show multiple CB Search forms in the frontend and control the fields available for search and the sequence of these fields in the search results. Yes! you can have full control of the search page!
This component automatically decides the field type to be shown in the frontend, for example if you have created a dropdown field in CB and if you choose to use that as a search parameter in the frontend then the component will automatically show a dropdown to users in the search page.

Firstly the component did not work when I installed on J1.5.23, but without further delay I contacted their support desk & though it took a lot of time to get it fixed, the component is unlike any other. Its a brilliant component with super-flexibility. The after-sales support is one of a kind. They are very fast & very repsonsive & do value your money. If you are looking for a Search component This is it. I bought another module called CB Pro search for $15 & it doesnt work & the support desk ignored me completely, then I bought CB Adv Search for 25Eur & its worth it. worth every penny. DONT LOOK ANY FURTHER. THIS IS IT. Great Job Csaba & Dan. Keep up the good work. Looking forward for some more products from you.
It is one of the finest extension we have seen for community builder. Still developer can improve it by giving flexibility to display results in desired design, also it would be great if CB Country State Plugin was compatible with this extention. Also there is something missing like search only users with photo, search members between specified age group, etc.
Still this is best search component having its module also.

Finally a big update good job guys I tried other solutions and have to admit that this is the best and most customizable search component currently in market.
Wow! Everything on the wish list in these reviews seems to be included. Results can be vertical or horizontal. Lots of requests for CB search module so that's included. Blank fields don't show up. Easy set up, maybe 10 minutes (less if you read the manual). A little extra styling and it's perfect! I highly recommend this CB Advanced Search component and module.
If there was an obvious way to contact the provider I would have tried that option before reviewing this component on here.
I can't get the search on username to work, it produces an sql error.
I think the component is nearly there, if the issue with the username could be fixed, and it could be extended to include more features as follows:
1. Ability to add search category groups, for example on my CB site, I have different groups of users i.e. business and personal users, and would like to be able to create 2 seperate search pages for these, or at least be able to search on either group - not both at once.
2. Ability to select what fields are returned in the search results list: instead of returning every single field that you have put in the advanced search page, have the option to select just those that are needed (in administration)i.e. name, location and link to the profile of users who meet the search criteria
3. Ability to add introductory text, and also field descriptions (as some might need a little explanation)

Your application is interesting for the proposed price but it would be good to integrate new feature.
- To allow to choose fields has to post (show) in the result without allowing a search on these fields
- Choose the mode of poster of the results because they display in vertical and take too much place
- Show numbers for the results in front of every line of result
- Highlight the line glanced through by the mouse cursor and why not be able to choose the color of the highlighting
I hope that it will be fast possible and with all this, your application will be ultimate

I tried this one out about a year or two ago, and at the time I was impressed by the developers fast response to suggestions to improve the component. (Showing profile photos & linking them to the profile.) This time, I just want to write a review and give thumbs up. It works, it looks nice enough, and for 25 Euros, it's a good value. (Although for US dollar it doesn't look so good at the moment.) It is simply enough written that with very basic coding skills you can do some tweaking to it without turning gray, which is great.
Now the annoyance... The required 3 characters for keyword search. Why oh why! It's probably great for massive sites, but for a smaller site like mine it returns too specific results even if you search by a keyword such as "and"; it excludes everyone who hasn't fully filled their profiles. Keywords are great for topical searches, but when you're looking for people, it's probably best left open and just search with the values in the generic fields. Age, sex, location - that sort, you're not always interested if they used a specific word in their "about me".

I am more than happy to come across this component. It solved the problem within 2 mins...seriously its so simple to install and configure. Works excellent and total flexibility.
I highly recommend this component for anybody wanting to do some search function over CB.
The support is quick and very responses even on weekends..though we should try giving that space..

I found this component after to try other ones listed. This is easy to install and do all necessary requeriments to make searches.
Price is good because support is just excellent (Thanks Deepak and Lydia for their patience and help)

This is a CB search Component that actually works!
THE GOOD:
It is so simple, you select the fields you want to search in the com backend, then create a menu item to the search component.
those fields appear along with a keyword field.
enter in your search criteria and click search!
results show!
AND....results show AVATAR!, yes just like CB userlists the results include the avatar..many cb search coms DONT do this. (such as CB Adv.Search Plugin).
THE NOT-SO GOOD:
1. There is no module for this.
but you can use a component loader module to load the search into a module.(results may vary)
2. there is no custom search categories. so if you have CB subs and you want to search by different user types, you can but all the users will show the empty fields they obviously dont have. this eats up alot of space.
Having the ability to setup search categories wiht custom fields on the backend would be ideal./
example:
Search #1..contains fields
cb_username
cb_clubcity
cb_clubtype
Search #2..contains fields
cb_username
cb_bizcity
cb_biztype
3. The results display in one giant column, this eats up alot of screen space. If this could be made to display in a grid that would be excellent.
(similar in nature to Praisebuilders CBuserlist template)
4. Out of the box my results included the wrong itemID to the profiles.
5. A live demo would have been nice as the screenshots provided do give enough information

Okay I may have been missing something ( I am quite a newbie to Joomla & CB ) but I could not find a search facility within, or written for, Community Builder.
To be honest this was a last resort - until now I had never bought a component without trying it first but I was desperate.

I suggested a tweek and within days it was done - and the next update is due in a few weeks.
