Hello,
I'll also posted the following text on the developer website. Unfortunately I don't get
a response there.
I made a major update to the Module which can be used with the plugin.
A user of a site I run suggested to me that it maybe would be useful to set a time from within the statuses have to be updated to get displayed in the Module.
Also I integrated a localization to the module.
Made it "upgradeable" and included some improvements.
Overview:
* The output is a (unordered) list now[/li]
* the single list points get marked as even or odd, in order to allow styling of single rows.
* User-names are marked, whether there on or offline (css class: online/offline)
* In the backend the modulclasssuffix is added
* also you can enable the "timeframe"
* if enabled the default is set to 24 (hours), change to whatever you like (hours!)
... drop me a message an I will gladly mail or
upload the module with my updates.
It is all tested and works properly.
I hope I get feedback from the original developer.
But if the request is big enough I maybe will upload the Module here (as the original code is GPL2 and therefore changes and updates are allowed afaik).

Thanks,

This ist a nice extension, the only thing I had to correct was a css entry ".inputbox / width:100%", because of the 100% the formatting of my "User Profile edit" was not correctly.
Thank's for the extension !

This plugin is quite good if you want to have an interactive community.
My only concern is if it's possible to show the user's first name rather than the username. That would make this plugin a real 5 star !!!
Keep it up

The concept is excellent and I see many have been able to get it to work. I was able to install the plugin for CB1.2 but the module does not want to install at all. Not sure if the reason is that is not compatible with Joomla 1.0.15! But it says it is on the site.
I made comments, left an entry in the forums of the site and even emailed directly but have not been able to get a response. Not sure if I am jumping the gun or not.
I definitely would love to have this working at my site especially with the Facebook fever that's going on. The idea and concept is great but for me without the module is not fully functional.

Looks good, working well but i give it 4 stars because it can not be translated. Why make different versions of plugin for different languages instead of standard Joomla! translations?

Thank you very much. Works great with J 1.5.10 and CB 1.2. This is what CB needed!!!

This is a great little addon for Community Builder. It works like a charm and is easy to configure. I made minor changes to the CSS and few presentational elements in the php, and it looks great. Thank you Srilankeeya!

This provides a great feature for a community, just like most social networks. It worked out of the box and I could modify it easily to announce status updates in a shoutbox or to reward them with AUP points on choosen time basis! Great work!

Simple yet powerful little gimmick.
Well done, I was especially happy to see a German version available.

I too have been waiting for this add on for CB. With JomSocial on the scene, where this functionality is built in, we need add ons like this to keep CB current. I also would like to see a module that displays the latest updated status messages, of either your friends or just everyone in general. Thanks for this!

This is a very nice plugin for Community Builder, adding the functionality of the Facebook "status" message. It installs easily and does just what it says.
Let me suggest a couple of things that would make it even better:
1. It would be great if the status mesage could start with the person's name, rather than their username.
2. It would be great if there was a module that could be used to pull the last "x" number of status updates and display them in a module position on another page of the Joomla site (perhaps the front page), with each status update being linked to the CB profile of the person. This would make the status updates more visible, and drive traffic to the CB profiles.
Again -- great job! Thanks for this useful tool.

This plugin is a must for everyone, who uses CB. The only thing, which I didn't like, was that this plugin doesn't respect uft-8 encoding. If you run CB in a language, which requires special characters as "ö", "ü", "é" etc. then you need to add the following statement at line 37:
$status = utf8_encode($status);
Otherwise a message like "denke über etwas nach" will be shortened to "denke" because of the character "ü".
This was the only reason, why I did not rate this plugin 5 stars. Install process was easy and the extension worked right away in CB 1.2 RC4, Joomla 1.5.9. Great plugin!

hi zafad it is now fixed in the new version, you can use it in any language, enjoy
Nice little extension... Adds flavor to your community builder profile... it's little stuff like this that makes your website that much better!

One of the most integral parts of facebook is the ability to show the community what your upto at a particular moment. I loved this extention. Ive been waiting for someone to do it for ages. Worked straight away! Great Stuff!
