Adding unique features for your users to make their profiles look the way they like them and also adding the ability to control access to profiles this is a great estension. I got the all access account and had the developer install the extension for me as it has many features and was difficult for me as a newbie. I think it is well worth the money and time. Great product and service.

That was what I needed.
I took a platinum access as I needed to send different mails to different types of users. That's ok with mail manager from proma.
Support is good.

I dont't know the problem of some users here. Profile Manager isn't a component for first time joomla user. It's a quit powerful component and one must first know how to control all other components that it uses for it's functions (CB, ACL etc) beforce fully understanding what the component does.

I am coding a portal with CB, JACLPlus Pro and jReviews and without Profile Manager I have no chance to make it real. And the support is great. My mails will be answered in minutes.

I personally don't agree with the last reviews and can only say that I have had a very pleasant experience. Support was fast and instant, I had a problem with my account and this was solved almost instantly and on top of this the developer went ahead and provided me the latest version that actually costs more then what I have paid for. This component is a must have for everyone that has the need for a multiple registration website, without profile manager we would have accomplished this and our site would not be what it is today. Thanks for everything!

I can confirm everything in the previous review. First of all there is no support. Many unanswered support questions in the forum and if the dev reply, it takes days, sometimes weeks. For example, 5 weeks ago i posted in their forum and asked for the differences between free version and the paid version, because there is no description. I never got an answer. So i downloaded the free release and compared this with a paid release a friend of mine has bought. The only changes and improvements the dev has done is a new backend design. Everything else is the same!!! Now i know why the dev never answered my forum post. Second, it seems to be that it isn`t stable until now. So many customers of this dev have got the same issues. I can`t install it correctly, got a lot of error messages, same with my friend. Also have a look at the version number he offers here. At the dev site there isn`t a Profilmanager 3.1, only 3.0 (the one with the changed backend design) and a free release. I don`t know why joomla.org doesn`t check the devs and their products here. I can only give you the hint: Be careful with this dev.

my name is Laurent, I'm actually finishing my 80th website with joomla (installation / extensions integration / custom develloppement / design outsourced).

I first tried the free version which I was not able to install on my website.

I then looked at the commercial version, thinking it maybe was more 'finished'.

Everybody here must know the only difference between the free and commercial version is a display with tabs on the back office ... not a single other enhancement or debug.

It's supposed to be, when you pay the 39 $ version as I did, kind of premium support.

After 6 days, no answer, neither for my mail, neither from the support I contacted via the form on the website, neither on the forum (my posts are still up, but you can visit this forum only if you register).

So do not buy it, it's useless, free and commercial are the same and the support si absent in both cases.

Unless this message here get's them to move...

I had a client who needed a few different crazy registration forms and also different member profiles. I stumbled on proma and it was exactly what I needed.

I downloaded the software, installed, configured, and everything is working great. It's a pretty powerful add on for CB.

I had a quick question so I emailed support ( i paid for 3 months of support and updates ) and the developer emailed me back almost immediately.

Great support is the #1 thing you can have for your business, and they have that. Which makes it all the better.

A+ Component and A+ support.

So far PROMA works flawlessly with my community builder and with NOIX acl. At first I thought they may not be compatible but this softawre does the trick.

A big thank you to the guys at dutch development for making this wonderful component. Their support has also being excellent and instant.

Good thing that it's free and supplied under GPL.

This extension is exactly what I needed on my site, on which staffers need to have some tabs on their profiles (blog posts, for one) while registered users need to have others (their submitted links, user reviews, and so on). I was stumped as to how to accomplish this until I found PROMA. It does just what I want it to!

The ability to create multiple profile types is a critical feature to many social networking sites, especially those that are subscription-based. Curiously, none of the SN components for Joomla have implemented this as a core feature.

For CB users, PROMA provides this missing functionality in an easy to use package. Creating multiple profile types and registration forms is quick and efficient. Complex access control functions can be applied to any profile element, even if your knowledge of SQL is limited. Additionally, the integration with JACL and AEC is fantastic. To echo a previous reviewer, I highly recommend the use of PROMA and AEC as a cost effective alternative to CBSubs. Unless you have several hundred extra £ (GBPs) lying around that you don't know what to do with, you owe it to yourself to try out this combo.

Around a year ago, some reviewers had complaints about support. i can't vouch for anything that's happened in the past, but my experiences with CMS Tiger support have been fantastic. Nick, one of the developers, truly went above and beyond to get my questions answered and my one minor technical issue solved. We exchanged dozens of emails over a few days. First I was provided with a workaround, and then a resolution to my situation. Furthermore, he was polite and courteous throughout the process. I did not encounter any of the snarky comments or "holier-then-thou" attitude many of us frequently receive when asking for support.

Overall, a great product at a reasonable price. If you need multiple profile types on your site, I highly recommend this extension. If you need the unencoded version, its probably worth the extra $20 to get it. Compared to the alternatives, this is still a fantastic value.

PROMA is what I need. I can create several user groups and different type of register forms.
Installed and working on Joomla 1.5.11, CB 1.2 without problems.

The component could be a real highlight for any CB-Website - if it would run without IonCube loader.

With Proma you get a component with partly encrypted code - and we all know from the past, what happens, if the devoloper disappears:

No more support, no updates and no way to fix problems yourself.

So my decision is clear : I only pay for complete open source !

I got this component for our site as we needed to be able to sort the various profile types. Well this does it very well.

their support is 2nd to none and quick. Get this component if you truly want a diverse Community Social system.

I purchased this during the upgrade from CB RC4 and CB 1.2 Stable and had to wait awhile before the new Stable Release of Proma 2.0 came out that I could use.
It was well worth the wait. This plugin for CB 1.2 is incredible. And I'll have to say that the support is pretty unbelievable too.

I had an post installation issue and posted it in their forums and within 5 minutes had a reply. I ended up having to send my admin. login info. to them and they logged in and got it fixed for me.

As I said in the title, this is a must have plugin for CB. Once you get it you will be wondering how you ever got along without it.

Even if you don't use multiple profiles, just the ability for users to change CB template styles and arrange their own profiles is well worth it.

They have released proma 2.0 stable. Upgrade works like a charm, no problems appears. Nice component with a lot of features and i think there comes a lot of more in the future! ;-). A have must for a social network site. My user love it, to create their own profile look. I`ll give an A+! Support is excellent and quick.

Excellent component. I integrate proma in my CB 1.2 stable / Joomla 1.5.10 community without problems. Have got 2500 users at the moment and everything works fine. It is a have must for every community!

This is an awesome extension and has a lot of potential. Having just installed this component I must say this is exactly what I've been looking for. I have been looking for something like that for a long time and now I found it. But first of all, the possibility to assign different Tabs and Fields to different profile types, make different registration forms for different usergroups and the possibility to assign different joomla and / or cb templates to different profile types were something, I really needed. And now, I got it! Thanks so much and thanks for your quick support. I really enjoy it!

The Developers have just released a new version of PROMA and it works great. They finally got all the bugs fixed and are very supportive to help.

It is the best $30 component I have bought. I am not sure how anyone can have a serious social network site without this component. Enough Said.
