mod_docman_list offers seven parameters in this version:
• catid: by default, all documents in a DOCMan store are displayed; users can specify a single category to recursively visit
• showlinkcats: users can choose wether category titles are a link to the list of documents belonging to category (the default), or just plain text
• showlinkdocs: users can choose wether documents titles are a link to document itself (the default), or just plain text
• showdesc: users can choose wether displaying documents together with their description (the default), or hiding description
• daysnew: after how many days a document has to be considered "old"; that is, it's not labeled as "New" in list display
• spacer: number of spaces, given as margin-left em, used to indent docs list
• fontsize: Holds font size to apply to top-level headings, in em. It reduces by 0.2em passing to a subcategory
By 1.3 version, mod_docman_list displays just categories and documents available for current user access level.

I really like this component better than the others I have tried, BUT, I wish you could set permissions at a folder level instead of every file. This would make it SO easy! Then I could hide the permissions tab from the people uploading into the folders.

I have used till now JDMtree module to display all documents from all categories which also follows user permissions. However, jdmTree was not being able to recognize DOCMan user defined group and that was the reason why i decide to try this extension.
And i was quite surprised that DOCMan list even doesnt follow ANY user permissions not just user defined then it lists all documents even if you cant download it. I dont like for not having this option.

You're definitely right; and in effect, adding feature you (and probably others) request in versione 1.3 was trivial, both for Joomla! 1.5-native and for Joomla 1.0.x-legacy version.
I apologize not to have thought it by myself :)
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!

My customers wanted to display a full list of all their Docman categories and sub-categories off one page via the main menu. I searched everywhere and tried a number of different ways to achieve this but in the end used this module assigned to a previously un-used module position (user7), and created a content item with {mosloadposition user7} and a link to the main menu, and it worked perfectly! As a bonus it also used the site's CSS (another similar module didn't) so I didn't have to change a thing to have it up and running immediately. Good job
