* The module take one product from “specials” and display for 24 hours as Deal of the Day. 24 hours is default time, can be value. The administrator setup the end of the deal; date and time
* If the quantity is 0(zero) then a new product is taken from specials and the counter is restarted (24 hours)
* The “Deal Of the day” section (HikaShop website – front end) will contain a box where are displayed:
image of the product taken from database (link to the details product page)
short description (truncated at 250 words and read more – link to the details product page)
old price & new cut price taken from database
the countdown (to the moment when this offer will expire)
quantity left (if it is setup to be displayed, it is taken from the database)
BUY NOW button (link to the details product page)
Custom text displayed on top line (set up from admin area)
I had numerous issues setting it up as Hika shop does not have "specials" as with other carts, there is only discounts - at least not with the free version. This caused some issues with the script not working as there is no special price to work on thus nothing to display resulting in error messages. I had to hide that piece of code to get the module to display then I had to go and change the JText's to get rid of the "buy at" and "you save" description as there is only one price.
After this whole issue I just gave up on trying to get it to "take one product from 'specials'" as the author mentions in his description.
I think there is loads of possibility here but it still needs tons of work. If only he can get it to automatically take the specials and display them with the countdown timer...
