I really like this extension. It's very simple to use and it does a great job.
For future versions, it would be great to have shipping for individual items or shipping based on the product weight.

What an extension!!! Works seamlessly with k2 component and very easy to use. Turn any k2 item into a beautiful looking store item, possibilities are endless with new attribute options in newer version. Most of all, the developer has responded to each and every question prompltly and comprehensively. He even guided me through to resolve the conflicts with other plugins that I came across. A simple and must have alternative for other complicated carts for joomla. Very good, keep up the good work.
Alright, I don't usually write reviews for anything I do but this one has to be the first. K2 Store made me a believer, gave me confidence to buy and believe on a product that if I buy something I would get what the product promises, and the support has the best response rate ever. It's calling a close friend for help, very reliable. So, if you're looking to find an extension the has no extra work or modules to install to start selling.. it stops here... K2 store it is. I'm sure it will only get as the updates go...

It worked out of the box! With a minor modification and a little help from the developer, which by the way is very responsive and helpful, I managed to make this extensions to do more that it is doing for the moment. Thank you guys! I'm looking forward for the next version, that'll have some new good functions implemented, like automailer for admin on new orders. Keep up the good work!

How does a person/company release an "non-commercial" extension, which you can't actually use unless you purchase something ?
If you are thinking about downloading this extension, consider this your fair warning. Although they claim that this is an FREE, Non-Commercial e-commerce extension, its actually just a bait-and-switch/trick-a-roo to get you to invest a lot of time into setting it up only to discover that you can't actually use it unless you purchase a payment plug-in. They do not mention this in the script description nor on their website, making it look like it really is GPL open source.
Its really quite sad, because the extension works very well (at least up and until you try and actually purchase something) when you discover you need the playment plug-in.
I don't know if it actually works, hence I can not rate it any higher then a 2.

Thank you for the review.
1. It is a free extension. We need to have a some form of revenue to keep its development going on. So we have to sell the Payment Plugins.
Besides, many users do not want a payment integration. Plus we are not collecting huge amount. Just USD 10 for the plugin.
2. GPL does not mean that everything is free. Please have a look at the GPL licence at its website.
3. You do not need a lot of time to set up. You can get this add on up and running in just a few minutes.
4. It is clearly mentioned in the website that you can buy a payment plugin. It is not mandatory, however. All Plugins are GPL licenced.
This is a phenomenal piece of work by the author. Quite frankly, it's brilliant.

Thanks for the review. You should read the features and about the extension. it is a simple add on. It is NOT a full, feature packed shopping cart like Virtuemart. You did not even read the information and came up with this review. We never promised of shipping, tax or any large features of it.
Wonderful extension with outstanding support!
Continued dialog with the developers has been very helpful. Our questions are promptly addressed and we we even asked for our feedback and suggestions.
This component installs easily and without a hitch. Works as advertised and we have not had one issue!

Building on the back of K2 this component does have potential but is just not ready to be used as fully functional ecomm solution..
Its missing key features that you would hope to see, for instance theres no way to add variables to sale items (eg. red or blue) only change qty's so you may aswell just add a paypal button yourself!
Hopefully this component will mature quickly to do K2 justice and become a serious alternative to VM etc...

Thanks for the review. The initial release had just minimal features. But now we have released the K2 Store V 2, which addresses many issues. It is in Alpha stage now. you cna check it out in http://k2store.org
All I can say is this is a good addition to the k2 component specially when you want a customizable store. The only thing that seems to be not right is you cant see the module when you're browsing other pages. Hope that the developer create that in mind too. Anyway, since this is free, I give this 5 stars!
This extension works perfectly for me since all of my sites use the K2 extension for content. I love K2 and I am very comfortable with it. Since I've been using it, it's made my sites come alive. It's great to have this extension because it allows me to integrate a webstore right into my K2 content that I'm already so used to using. Excellent work on this. I'll be using this for a long time to come!
