K2Tabber
It creates a specific k2 template which divides your extrafileds in graphic tabs.
Pay attention: now the extension supports all Joomla and K2 versions!
HOW TO Install and Use K2Tabber:
1. Install ext_K2Tabber.zip using joomla's installation tool
2. Create a k2 Category
3. Select as Layout Template "k2tabber"
4. Create an article under the category you have just created (using one or more extrafileds) and view it in the frontend

And as there is no uninstall function for this extension as it is neither a Component, Module or Plugin, you're left without one of K2's nice new features.

if you had asked for assistance on our forum, you would have received free support within hours.
K2 2.5 is compatible with J1.6 and J1.7 so, beeing our extension J1.5 Native, is ovious it could create issue.
Now in our downloading page there is a "Pay Attention" warning.
To unistall K2Tabber you only need to:
- unistall plugin
- delete k2tabber template
- reinstall k2 2.5
(this steps would solve the issue)

You have shown one of many potentials of K2. Congrats on this part!
However I have two ideas you might consider in you future releases.
The template itself and styling is very similar to K2 Item Editing Form in back-end, it would be nice if you provide some alternative skins.
I used long textareas as extra fields and it increased my page load time, so I thought it helps if there is an Ajax loading system to prevent unused contents loaded instantly.

We had also developed a pro version of K2Tabber with all the content "tabbed". The template is more professional and It has more possibilities.
I'm very happy you appreciate the logic of extension (no template dependence), but unfortunately we had not used Ajax in this extension.
Your idea is very good, infact we are working on a new extension from September 2010.
Its name will be K2Custom.
Through it you will be able to insert your HTML and CSS code for your personal k2 template with all the features you want.
You insert HTML and CSS codes in K2Custom special fields and It will transofm the code in a real K2Template without the use of PHP!
This will allow any Designers to create, use, sell and share their K2 Template.
