The Features of module Sot K2 Slideshow:
Support all browsers (IE, FireFox, Chrome, Opera, Safari, ...)
Source items: Two options (from categories, specific items).
Support turn on, turn off auto play slideshow.
Support the link to image and description.
Support opening link in: Current Window or New Window.
Support Resizing or Cropping images.
Support effects: Swirl, Rain, Straight, Random.
Support to control position of navigation.
Limit the characters of the description and short description.
Support turn on and off navigation (navigation is number or rectangular).
Support caching to make website loads faster.
Support Multi-Module on a page.
Support Multi-Language.
Support SEO (Search engine optimization).

This slideshow is a good extension. It works fine, and use jquery (In case of you don't want to have any potential conflict with Mootools).
There is nothing really "excellent" to say (Except it's a free extension, of course). You have basics options, and that's why i'm excepting with that kind of extension.
However, there are some problems. There isn't basics transition effect (Like a fade effect), not a great problem, but it got my attention. In fact the real problem for me is the way that extension shows titles and text of an article/item. It's really not highlighted. You can still read titles and texts, but on my website, pictures as far bigger than the text area, and it decrease their visibility. The readmore button has the same problem.
That's a pity, but it doesn't make this extension a bad extension ;)

I use this module in my site and works great. The only bug is what hockey2112 said, if the image is small or medium quality, will not lock good and we can’t change.
I resolve using images with quality and works great.
Have an option that is great, in K2 If I put the Item future, this module automatically create the slide show. Was the only I find that do that. Save me a lot of work.

This module pulls in the K2 content very nicely, but the quality of the slideshow images it produces is horrific! The module does not have any way to set the quality, or to disable compression. I don't think I will be able to use this module because of that issue, which is a shame...
