Thumbnails can have nicely rounded corners. Check demo.

Shows number of images inside category.
You can dispaly more than one thumbnail from one category.
It's possible to select which categories to show or not. Also subcategories.
New version for J 2.5.XX can show number of hits, number of comments, date of creation and all that can be set from administration.

This is something I was looking for and was not available from the developer of Phoca gallery, and thankfully somebody else made it. It's a must have module. The developer is very helpful and also did a quick fix for a small bug I found. The only flaw, I would say it's that it's taking the parameters from the general phoca gallery options and not from the menu options, so you could have different appearance than you are expecting. It would be nice in the future also to have some more options, like sorting by hits (most popular) or related through meta keywords.
