MET-PRO manages Multiple Entry Forms, Entry Type Transition (Upgrading and Staged Processes) and Display Template control within Sobi2.
End Result is that MET-PRO allows you to have far more complex Directories or to break out the Directory Model and Use Sobi2 for Process Management functions.
Feature Overview:
Multiple Entry Type Profiles:
You can Have More than one Type of Entry within a single Sobi2 install that share a common Database, Tree Structure and Search. Within each Entry Type you have:
*Individual Base Settings: Descriptions, Publishing, ordering and Base Fee
*Publishing and Approval and Publishing Duration control
*Category Fees (Based on # of Categories Selected)
*Template Control Entry and View (Custom and Assigned)
*Directory Category Assignment or Pruning (What Category to assign or which Categories may be selected)
*Transitional/Upgrade Control (What Entry Types a particular entry can be converted to)
*Secondary Fields & Plugin Management: Controls which fields are active and their general settings (Fee, Required Entry, where to display). Where applicable these same settings can be applied to Sobi2 Header Fields, Custom Fields and Content Plugins for Sobi2.
X-Frame customization features:
Allows you to add code to manipulate processes and add features either globally or to individual Entry Types.
Basic Filtering (With a cache performance hit):
Allows you to control if entries will be Public, Viewable only by the owner or Hidden in the Directory.
Admin Panel Control:
Different Entry Types can be created from the Admin Panel as well.
** Skill Requirements **
A lot of progress has been made to allow novice developers to take advantage of most of the features of this expansion by using generalized templates and Plugin settings. The added features still have a learning curve and taking full advantage of all of it's capabilities requires at least a generalized knowledge of HTML and php.
I highly recommend this plugin for those who must use sobi2 for your site. The plugin is very well done, resolves several situations with only sobi2 would be difficult to manage. But above all, recommend this plugin because Greg has proved a person really really helpful, always polite, very competent, and ready to solve any situation. I have been helped whenever I needed it.

I am a webmaster and I recommended MET Pro to my client who registered and purchased it. I am doing the installation and also any necessary customization. All I can say is the extension is fantastic! It only took me a day before I had it all working with multiple entry forms and templates needed for use with Account Expiration Control and Sobi2.
I also needed to customize for use with eight Account Expiration Control subscription plans that determine what directory entries can be entered in Sobi2. Your extension was critical to accomplish that. The plans require different Sobi2 directory entry forms, and the ability to define multiple templates, each using different fields according to the Account Expiration Plan, was exactly what I needed to avoid hacking AEC or the Sobi2 core.
As a PHP developer, I was delighted to see the X-Frame feature to accomplish the additional customization required to integrate Account Expiration Control and Sobi2. X-Frame allows me to add my PHP code and extend your Sobi2 Plugin with ease. When combined with Account Expiration Control Micro Integrators, this has saved me an incredible amount of time and has kept coding to a minimum. Plus, it keeps the code where it is transportable for future upgrades (Look Ma, no hacks!), and is also self-documenting using the X-Frame capability.
Superb work and I will be following up with a recommendation in the JED and also on social networks I frequent.

This is a 'must have' plugin for anyone using Sobi2 as a directory site with paid listings.

I've downloaded the Basic version of MET for Sobi, and let me say that is perhaps the most useful extension for this component.
The support is excellent my friends, fast and effective.
I gave my keys to access the backend of my livesite and I have fixed all the problems of the site and ran the MET very well and very quickly.
Highly recommend that you use this service and this extension.

Was looking for an extension that allows multiple entry types in SOBI2. And was lucky enough to find this extension. A great and very useful extension. Also the support is awesome. Greg is doing a great job with the support and solutions he offer through his forum.

This plugin provides Sobi2 with expanded functionality in more than just entry submission - but also customized template options for multiple entry forms and entry types. Utilization of this plugin currently requires some knowledge of php, and that is where Greg comes in! His expert grasp of Sobi2 and php made him an efficient, excellent support person for both integrating our needs and helping us with the overall concept planning and troubleshooting of our concept!

I have been working with Joomla for several years now and only recently SOBI, I needed the functionality that this plugin provided so went ahead and bought it. Most things went smoothly, I was able to get the plugin mostly working and had some trouble integrating it with the layout I had Sobi using. Greg was invaluabe - very quick response times on the forum and now I am up and running. Fantastic :)
I have a site that uses sobi2 and I heard about MET-pro, I saw reviews and it seemed like a logical choice. I ordered on a weekend and had to contact the developer to have my paid for download sent (he told me it takes longer to get my order on the weekends). That should have given me an idea of what was in store.
I downloaded the plugin and in the instructions, there was a easy setup and a detailed set up (for new jacks like me). Unfortunately the detailed setup was missing a page. I had to visit the forum to find out how to install. This should have given me an idea of what was in store.
If you are a little more technically saavy with me, maybe the issues I ran into wouldn't be issues, but I have to say, this plugin (along with installation and set up) isn't intuitive, which is understandable, but the documentation that should help you thru the process should be more helpful.
I checked the forums to find help with the issues i'm facing, and I couldn't find one thread that basically walked you thru the set up in a concise manner.
After playing around with the plugin for 3 hours, I figured I will just have to pay someone to set it up. After paying almost $100 (US) for this plugin, I must say i'm extremely disappointed and if I didn't need this plugin for the clients site, I wouldn't use it. So, if you aren't familiar or comfortable playing with code by way of half cocked "tutorials", don't waste your time.

Betwixted is a single person operation and approvals continue to be manual for the time being. So instant 24/7 service and support are simply impossible.
MET is not a feature plugin it is a structural plugin. Meaning it doesn't do anything specific but it adds capabilities to make many more things possible with Sobi2. The additional capabilities come with some added complexity and a learning curve (not 3 hours).
Free support is provided, to help you get setup and running.
Documentation is admittedly past due for a re-write, this and a packaged implementation system will be included in the next full release.
MET Pro turns Sobi2 into one of the most useful Joomla applications I've seen. With this plugin, Sobi2 becomes so flexible in what it can do for any kind of website - community, commercial, e-commerce, info management - the only limit is your imagination.
Greg has replied to questions on his forum within 24hrs, frequently releases updates and new features to the plugin, and has a great plan for additional features and functions.

If you are setting up a serious directory/classifieds system of any kind based on SOBI2, this is the first extension you should install. It gives you all the flexibility that SOBI2 is missing, and combined with the support you are getting from Greg, this is just totally amazing!
I do not have a habit of going totally crazy praising a piece of software like this, but the product and service that Greg offers is one of a kind!
Any extension around here is only as good as the support offered unless you are a programmer yourself. And by that standard, the rating scale does not do this extension justice. Because it is WAY beyond Excellent!

Everything I was missing in Sobi is achieved through this plugin. The basic is great but the extended options in Pro is well worth the upgrade! The developer is SOOOO patient and helpful, he assists every single post in the forum and see to it that you achieve your goal. AMAZING EXTENSION, SERVICE, AND END RESULTS! You won't regret it!
Sobi's great flexibility has just gotten even greater! The MET plugin basically covered a range of Sobi shortcomings to come up with the most ambitious and feature rich SOBI add-on to date (IMHO). Multiple entry types allow for many combinations of category control, details and vc templates, payment options, package upgrades, etc. In most cases, MET has also substituted the need for Sobi clones. If there is just one of the many features of this plugin you need, you can't go wrong with it. Greg's support is unmatched both at the Sobi forums and on the betwixted.com site.
