The module has different settings to adapt it to your site. Therefore the number of entries within the module is adjustable. Also the image (logo) or the icon of the entry can be shown optionally in the module. To show only an image, the title text can be switched off. If the length of the title is too long, it can be shortened, three dots are added.
Use the setting "Category Dependant" to show only the latest items of the actual category when within category view of SOBI2.
On non-SOBI2 pages the items of a specific category can be shown.
The item style can be changed from the standard list view to the usage of div containers. Using div containers, the items can be shown also horizontally.
this is an excellent module using the category dependant setting, although i also would like to use it on the frontpage to display latest entries for a certain category. the description above says this is possible, but the module has no input for a category id so i dont see how you could achieve this.
I use the Latest Entries Module in several situations to show a list of the latest downloads, and even a preview of images for a Portfolio using the Sobi2 Component.
It's lightweight and works great right out of the box.
