This Sobi2 plugin allows you to geocode your entries following 2 ways:
* Backend: administrators can geocode automaticaly existing SOBI2 entries from the entered address in a batch process. The proccess prevent server crashes with a special JS script that cut the process in little entries packages. Many options are provided like: choice the category you want to geocode, include all entries in sub categories, geocode unpublish entries, set a rectangular zone (defined by 4 points) and geocode only entries from this range, geocode only the entries with empty coordinates, a commom adress sufix (like: geneva+Switzerland), ...
* Frontend: When hhe entry is saved (or/and updated), the entry is automaticaly geocoded, then the coordinates are found in same time the entrie is saved. In the entry form there is a map, where the user can pick a point, the user can click on a geocode button and if Gallery plugin is installed (version in the package) you can geocode the entry from the image (image made by iphone, android phone, or with another device that geotag the image).
The only think you need is create 2 custom fields, latitude and longitude (existing in sobi from version 2.9.2.2). The plugin need to know the fields you used to defined the address (city, zip, ...) of the entries.
This plugin is perfect if you use the Radius search plugin or the geocat module (provided by sigsiu.net). The plugin provide no frontend map himself.
Since version 2.6 you can use the revert geocode process (get the postal address from coordinates), and save the fetched addresses in one custom field.

Would have been a 5 star if the documentation had been more informative.
Having said that I can only praise the guys for good support in identifying my error after I sent a screenshot. They even offered to assist with a query if I had a lot of entries but fortunately a new site with just test entries.
Well worth the money if you want simple geocodes.

With this plugin is easy to setup map in entry form by address or by clicking on map. It is way better than just fetching coordinates from address fields. So if your user has problem to get coordinates from his address he will get it from map.

I got this plugin for my two websites.
It is very easy in use, and the costs are very low compared to the time it saves.
Also I had a small problem, but the support was great and I fixed it within a couple of minutes thanks to the great and fast support.

This is only a small plugin, automatically fetching longitude and latitude for SOBI2 on the basis of freely definable SOBI2 fields. This is helpful, as many users don't like to click on a "fetch coordinates" field (which SOBI2 does provide).
More important the service of Cedric (the developper) is fast and efficient, giving a good sense of reliability at a price that is very acceptable.

Here is a particularly effective plugin. Simple to use the plugin has regular updates. It allows to maintain update my entries without any effort.
The addition of the geolocation after each update is perfect... Like this, each Member that updates its card remains always correctly positioned on the map!

Cédric Pelloquin did a wonderful job designing this plugin at first and once again he did a better job upgrading to the new version with what I was looking for in this plugin which is that it automatically can geocode 1000's of entries with single click. This is one of its kind out there.

This plugin works as advertised, but the coordinates it produced simply wasn't accurate enough for the street level maps I needed. Given the cost, a far better alternative - I found - is to purchase the SOBI import/export plugin and then run the address information through an online geocoder. The import/export plugin has so many more features that the slightly higher cost still feels like a much better value than this plugin.
