This is the best extension that I have ever found for importing! It works, is straight forward, and is pretty simple. And Kartik has supported me in resolving issues and has been very helpful, courteous, and 100% professional. I wish support on all extensions was as good as it is for this extension! We are still working on a couple final details, but I know we will get this sorted out one way or another. Kartik's can-do attitude is very much appreciated. I highly recommend RC-CSV and Rain Creatives
I'm rating this extension as excellent, cause it does what it says, and it's a must for everyone who needs to run an e-commerce on virtuemart. I had some problems with the extension, it wouldn't work but Kartik Trivedi at technical support help me with the issue. It took a while (around two weeks) cause they needed to make improvements on the code, but at the end the problem was solved and it's working perfectly.
After 2 hours it works... and it works perfect.
But don't use excel!(dutch office 2007,2010) it will mass up the csv file.
Then you can not import it to VM. It will do strange things.
Just use notepad and it works!
It's easy.
But when you export, it makes 1 mistake.
There is one " forgotten.
Maybe because i use VirtueMart 1.1.6 ...
When you import the same file directly it makes a disaster in the category's.
But it works fine now after placing one ".

I purchased Raincreatives RC-CSV 3 months ago hoping this would make it easier to import my products from Excell to Virtuemart and it has become the biggest nightmare. There tech support is horrible. I am still waiting for tech support for 3 months. The owner Trivedi Kartik ashured me he would take care of the problems I was having and has not. I woul not recomend this product to anyone. Very unhappy with this company. Dont waist your money on this module.
I had a problem the component would not run on my host configuration. I contacted Rain Creative and they answered my email right away. They came up with a solution. RC-CSV works. I am able to download and upload new products through a spreadsheet. Thanks for the great support to get me up and running!
No one answers emails, there is no presales support of any kind. I have emailed on 5 seperate occasions. If they dont have presales support, they wont have post sales support. However, the script works as described, its great, a huge timesaver, does everything except images properly.
I just wish they put some time into documentation. Its by far the best script of its kind and the easiest to use.

I bought this because I was looking for a solution that would allow me to manage my inventory with a spreadsheet, so I needed a component that enables CSV import/export, but all the other options out there required paid subscriptions on a monthly or yearly basis. I didn't want to pay more fees every year for licensing, so this worked out perfectly.
It is easy to use, incredibly easy. I was able to train two employees how to use it in about 5 minutes, and they are not 'techy' at all.
Also I saw there is a demo of the component on youtube, that shows exactly how the components work... watch?v=iw_hzrIob_0
This is going to be a regular step in the process for ALL of my VM sites from now on, thank you for putting something out that does exactly what I needed it to do. Lifesaver.
