Surely this could be done better and more efficient! Our solution is ccVMDashboard, a Joomla! 1.5 Administrator module. Images say more than a thousand words, so have a look at the screen shot to see what ccVMDashboard does. It's simple yet extremely powerful!

ccVMDashboard 1.0.4 adds support for our other extension ccVAOM. So, only when ccVAOM is installed, clicking the order number in ccVMDashboard will direct you to ccVAOM, not Virtuemart.
This update is not required if you do not use ccVAOM!

Was just browsing through the extensions directory when I saw this one, thought it looked handy. Downloaded and installed like a breeze. Now I can't imagine my store without this module, it has made life so much easier, thanks!
This is one of those tools that just works.
The module gives you a quick view of the last 10 orders (number of orders is a setting) you instantly know what is going on. Also the quick-links at the bottom give you the opportunity to go to VM-Orders, Users...

Really very useful and appropriate module. After you install it, enable the module and determine its position in the cpanel. Thanks to the developers.
