A great simple approach overall, but the all-in approach makes it less than advanced.
I'd love to see if there is a way to whittle down the 'Search category' lists where needed. Currently EVERY SINGLE category is listed - including those marked in VM as UNPUBLISHED. In the case of the website I manage for our business, the 'category tree' is three levels deep, and it needs to be as it feeds an accordion-style sidebar. If this module contained a way to say limit 'search category' items to say top-level category entries then this module would be far more useful.

Great extension, I'm a designer, not a coder, I need extensions that work without tweaking this and that. Advanced Search for VirtueMart does just that. I've written my product titles & descriptions to contain my search terms. Searched with Advanced Search returns the correct selection of products.
Made an account on here just to rate THIS mod. Absolutely effortless pain free and does more than i even expected. YOU NEEEED THIS on any joomla ecommerce site trust me dont look for any other search function this is the one you have been looking for (i've looked at them all)
What VM was missing all this while. No problem installing, works perfectly.
