VirtueMart adds the current categoryname.
When your VMcategory menuitem has the same name as the VMcategory you'll end up with double items in the breadcrumbs module.
This plugin removes all duplicate pathway items by name.
#Note:
The names of the VMcategory menuitems must exactly match with the VMcategory's.
Make sure all (sub)menuitems have unique names to prevent any problems.
I have been searching for days to stop this double entry in the breadcrumbs. I have discovered it has been logged as a bug fix in J1.7 so I was not hopeful of sorting this problem out. It meant a whole re-design of the navigation if not fixed.

Was having my trouble with double breadcrumbs entries in Listbingo. Gave this plugin a shot - even though it's made for Virtuemart.

True, this plugin just removes double breadcrumbs by name, so it works with practically anything :)
I spent hours(!) trying to overcome this problem. Then I downloaded this bad boy and installed it with ease. As soon as I activated it, my problems were all gone!
