Intelligent Design
Projectfork consists of many extensions working together; but the streamlined interface will make you feel right at home as if you're using a regular, single component. Installing and uninstalling Projectfork is as simple as with any extension: A single package to install, and a single extension to remove from your site.

User Experience First
Projectfork looks and behaves like your average Joomla 3 extension for the most part so you can it pick up naturally. If you ever get stuck, we provide plenty of comprehensible documentation on our website.

Developer Friendly
Projectfork uses a Joomla-native code approach wherever possible and is written "by the book" and best code practices. There is no custom theme engine, no Zend or other framework - just pure Joomla MVC architecture. Looking to hire a developer to make some modifications? No need to find a "Projectfork specialist"!

I have been using Projectfork for quite a long time and I must say that even at the early stage it was extremely powerful, providing so many options you could use it for totally different functions.

With version 4 the developers took advantage of the new users ACL system in Joomla making it really simple to set private repositories and forums. The look and feel is great.

I choosed the Pro subscription because:

1,. Projectfork is a super complex extension, easy to use, but difficult to develop: Tobias and his team deserve the money.

2.- PF has a few templates, some mods and plugins that are very useful only available to subscribers.

3.- PF makes Joomla a fantastic platform thanks to extensions like this. I haven't found anything as useful on Wordpress or Drupal. I want them to keep the hard work.

Gantt charts, specific components for designers, CB integration...

Just give it a try and you won't regret it.

We have used Projectfork from some of the first versions, which were quite complex to configure and the user interface and functionality were not always intuitive to understand especially for non-technical people which we worked together with on several projects. Since then things have changes a lot -Projectfork version 4.x.x is a totally revamp, and it is now a very functional project management suite.

Upgrading to the Pro version turn Projectfork into a professional online project management system which a great look and feel provided by the Pro templates.

We use it on our intranet and soon will we use it on our new media site and our new non-profit web site as well.

I highly recommend Projectfork, and I am grateful for the great support we have had.

Tobias, Kyle and your team, well done! We are looking forward to the future versions.

I am working now some Month with the system and it is great. A lot of possiblities and easy to learn.

At some points the usability can be better, but the guys are working on it.

We manage about 15 projects with over 100 tasks for 3 people who work on it.

Give it a try if you want to organize your projects online for working together.

This extension is very good for small company/team, we replaced a SAAS project management tool with this extension, having it fully integrated into our company website is an advantage.

Good but

Good option for project management but it needs more improvement in the user experience side and the structure and how the things are organized, hope that it will be just one component not multiple separate components.

I tried PROJECTFORK and unfortunately it was not for me so I uninstalled it and Guess it simple broke my site.

All my plugins are Unpublished.

Sorry! Developer I truly understand you kept lot of effort in making the extension sharing it with us for free but there is no point it makes more mess than simplifying problems.

Lucky me! I got backup of 4months work.

Owner's reply: Please contact support@projectfork.net. Projectfork never, ever! touches other plugins or extensions. Thank you!

Good extension

Very easy to use, its free, no limits, easy task management, very fast setup

I rarely make a bad review and I did like PF 3.0 a lot more than PF 4.0 due to more flexibility. I will review PF 4.0 in following title:

Permissions:

PF 4.0 has been divided to independent subcomponents such as Projects, Milestones, Tasks, etc...

Permissions at each subcomponent is defined separately and independently from each other, this is not good especially when it comes to relations of whole project permissions related to other subcomponents (If Registered users have permissions of Create and Edit Own, then if someone creates a Project, then any other Registered user can add Milestones, Tasks and interfere with everything within that project, in other words you can not create a simple Project Management service unless you manually defined details of permissions for every project).

Join Request and Add User:

Again this was a great option PF 3.0, totally missing in PF 4.0. You can add Users if you have full permissions to Joomla users (even this part is buggy at the moment). Now Joint request feature.

Bugs mainly permissions based:

There some Ajax selection of users or tasks, etc which create browser error in wrong permissions, Seeing users in Add User to project for example needs admin permissions to operate which is not logical, most of the sites are like a community and people have usernames (not names) so there is no breach of privacy if you could see users list and add the friends username to project.

In Brief, Project Fork 3.0 which was very community minded has been turned to more commercial form where can be used only in companies where every permission has to be set and controlled.

At the end, I don't mind bugs and issues and even don't mind to pay for Pro version but extension lacks also support, only recently I got a bit of respond to my entry to forum.

Owner's reply: "...you can not create a simple Project Management service"
- Yes, it is primarily meant to run in a private environment, and is not designed to be used as a public service. Clearly you had different expectations. But We have stated many times that Projectfork 4 would be nothing like Projectfork 3.

"Bugs mainly permissions based"
- Based on your date of review, I assume you've used Projectfork 4.2 beta 2. So those kind of things are to be expected when using a beta.

I really love the new Projectfork extention. It really change the origional design to the Bootstrap design in which I really really like. And it has almost everything I need.

But one Con I like to put out is that, there is NO custom fields! Most of every project has got to have custom fields (like dropdowns, lists, radio buttons, etc). For example, If one project needs a custom field (like what choices you have), I would need a custom field for that choice. Hope to add that feature in a future version, I be a lot happier.

I installed and used the non commercial version for several months and liked it enough to purchase the pro version. As some users have pointed out, the ACL takes awhile to catch on as how to implement so that some project are more open to users than others. Once mastered it is very powerful, just not easy to learn. The rest of the component is awesome, the reason for the 5 star rating. Everything else works so easy and is so logical that it more than makes up for the difficult ACL. I've used commercial websites paying monthly fees, dedicated systems in-house and though many had more features, non were as easy to use. And I've found if it isn't easy to use, it does't get used. ProjectFork really made a huge leap once I paid for the pro version. The template and gnat charts were worth the price of admission. The template made specially for this extension immediately made the layout and presentation far better than using any other template. I see this as a positive, others may see it as a negative if they are trying to integrate with another template. The template provided with the pro version turns it into looking like a high end dedicated project management system. Not just a Joomla extension. 100% bug free for the first three months of use. I'm not sure what other users are running into reporting bugs, maybe a different version or conflicts with other extensions, not sure. But my setup runs flawless and we use the file repository way more than I envisioned we would. Great product.
