Introduction

Core Enhancements, Multiple Sites

This plugin allow the users remain logged when they change from one domain to another one.
This extends the apache or IIS http server with the facility to share the session information betwee different domains.

  • Get this

This is a plugin must be installed in each websites in which you want to share the login.

It can also work with and without Jms Multi Sites.
When the extension is installed without Jms Multi Sites, it is required to share the Joomla MySQL tables for the sessions and users between the websites.

It is also recommended that you use the same joomla "secret" configuration value in the different websites as it is used to check the data exchanged between the different domains.

Works fine

Posted on 16 May 2013

Just wanted to let you all know that it's working fine for me. I have one Joomla installation, working with several domain names for different sections.

Frontend editing was complicated, because you had to login each time you changed section and thus changing domains.

With this plugin I log in once, and I'm logged in on all domains.

Thanks!

Good Product

Posted on 09 October 2012

I use this product after my site was hacked so I decided I will use all vulnerable extensions on different Sub.domains and my core main site will remain as pure joomla site & I will interlink sub domains to main site. Finally this product solved the problem. Well done excellent job.

I couldn't agree more.

Posted on 03 October 2012

I couldn't agree more with the post below. The programmers behind these products are poor. The code if full of bugs. And the costs way to high for what you get. Save yourself a headache and find another product.

I very seldom write a negative review and before I wrote this review I believe I exhausted any potential for resolving the issues described with the developer who categorically declines to support it without prior payment - even though he has already been paid...

I bought this extension to provide a single sign-in for a group of websites with different domains. Having followed the less-than-adequate instructions provided with the extension and having tried various combinations of settings as described therein, it quickly became clear that this extension is not what it claims to be.

The documentation advises that it is necessary to share the jos_user and jos_sessions database fields in the respective databases and also the same 'secret' word in the configuration.php file. It explains that the table prefixes must be the same and having carefully done exactly as instructed, nothing happens. Even Firebug showed nothing to suggest what was wrong - which leads me to believe that the extension actually does nothing useful.

I am not quite a Joomla novice so I understand that the jos_core_acl_aro and jos_core_acl_groups_aro_map tables are also essential when manipulating user data - something not mentioned in the documentation and a very serious oversight which means that it is not possible to make this extension work by following the instructions.

I asked for support and was advised that my very detailed query was 'ambiguous' and thatI should consult the forum or register for paid support.

Being unable to find anything relating directly to my problem in the forum I once more asked for some advice by submitting full details of the procedures and settings I used when using the extension with a request for suggestions as to what might be the problem, especially if I had overlooked something - I am not inclined to blame an extension for my own shortcomings so this seemed a reasonable request in view of having paid £20+ to the developer already.

The dismissive response was to the effect that if I wanted the extension installed for me I must order paid support.

That is not what I wanted - what I wanted was to get the extension working, know how I did it, then write a glowing review here.

I have tried to use it with separate TLDs, subdomains and even different servers - it doesn't work and I am beginning to suspect that this is little more than a device to sell paid support and/or other extensions from which it appears this utility was extracted.

Reading the 'small print' the developer also claims that the payment is NOT for the extension - that is free - but for the facility to download it. Does this mean that Belgium is outside the scope of EU regulations for fair trade? I think not!

I am not impressed with the extension or the developer and would advise extreme caution when considering this particular plugin. It is not what it claims to be!

Owner's reply: First, the objective of this extension is to allow remaining logged between website that have different domain. The objective is to share the apache session ID between the website.

This customer try sharing the apache session between websites on the same domain like mydomain.com/site1 mydomain.com/site2.

In this case, apache (or IIS) already share the session ID and that this extension is not required.

Second, we told to the customers that he probably didn't share correctly the MySQL tables of his websites because the session information present in the DB is probably not shared.

Finally, any support that would request to access the environment of the customer to help him configure or setup his environment is available via the billable support.
The installation, setup of the customer environment is not included in the price to download the extension.

We also remember that this extension is delivered in application of GNU/GPL

Just had to say thanks to Edwin for the work that went into the development of the SSI plugin and a special thanks for making it work with SSL https:// properly.

Kind regards

FX Pro Design Team!

My main domain has an alias, and, when users logged on the main domain, they were considered as not logged under the alias, and vice versa.

Multisites Single Sign In for domains solved this problem in no time! The package you download includes a detailed PDF file with all the instructions needed to get the plugin to work in less than 5 minutes.

Highly recommended!

JMS Multisites extend joomla with Multi Sites and user sharing. This allows multiple domain names or sites to have their own joomla configuration file using the same joomla installation. Possibility to share the users, and extensions like VirtueMart, Community Builder, JomSocial, ... With this new feature you can share the joomla files and folders to create totally independent web sites. This simply the maintenance of Joomla as you have only one instance to update for all the websites. With JMS you can create website based on website template to create new slave site. A "maintenance" functionality is also provided to help supervising the extension installed in each website with their datamodel and help you fix the potential datamodel errors. As each website has its own joomla configuration. You can decide to use: - One database for all the websites. In this case, you must specify different database table prefix for each websites. - Two databases (One master database and One slave database). This architecture is advised when you want to install JMS on an existing website and you are limited in the number of databases you can create (or disk space). - As many databases than there are websites. This is the most flexible architecture where each websites works with its own database. This is generally the architecture adopted by joomla when you create multiple websites. The content of each website is totally independent. This means that the content (articles, news, forum, users, ...) are NOT shared. The setup of each configuration site consists in using the standard joomla installation mechanism. In the administration of a 'Slave' site, you can re-install/uninstall extension previously installed on the 'Master' site. The 'Master' site is the one where you have installed the Joomla MultiSite component and where you manage the 'Slave' sites. Additional controls are performed during the installation/uninstallation of an extension in a 'slave' site. Before executing the standard joomla installation, it is verified that the extension you request to install has exactly the same name and same version number to avoid inconsistency between all sites. This additional control is performed to ensure that you will overwrite the current installation with identical files that you originally installed. On 'slave' site, uninstalling an extension consists in a joomla standard cleanup of the database. The files present on disk for this extension is not deleted to avoid disturb the other sites. You can also replicate a website into the same database or in different DB to avoid re-installing the extension in each slave site. On Unix platform, it is also possible to deploy a slave site into a specific folder. You can also share user and share the content of a limited number of extensions.

This a Joomla 1.5, 2.5, 3.0 and 3.1 native system plugin allow to search and replace any content present in a page. You can use basic search/replace and also regular expresion Search/Replace. The Search/Replace statement can also processed from an external file on the disk and not only from parameters in the plugin settings. This feature can be usefull when combined with Jms Multi Sites extension to have specific Search/Replace pattern depending on a website. As this is a system plugin, you can Search and Replace whatever including information in the html header and not only in the content of an article. This can be used for example to replace some keywords that could be placed in "shared articles" and that will be replaced by their specific values in a given website using this Search/Replace plugin. You can also apply the Search/Replace on the URL content and modify the parameters received by Joomla. You can for example use a basic Search/Replace like: [COMPANY] = This is my company [DEALER_NAME] = This is the dealer name But also use Regular expression Search/Replace when starting the "Search" pattern with a tild (~) like hereafter ~#[COMPANY]#i = This is my company The list of Search/Replace can also be provided from external files. You can provide 2 external files with the Search/Replace patterns. For example you could use : * file #1 = {root}/tmp/searchreplace.php * file #2 = {root}/tmp/searchreplace{site_id}.php As you can see, some keywords can be used in the file names. * {root} = the document root directory if the website * {site_id} = the Multisites slave site ID. In this sample, we have use a PHP file extension to allow protect the content of this file. Here it is a sample of file content

"Meeting Schedule" is the extension that you need to find the meeting date that suits to the greatest number of people. It also allows you to book lunch for the meeting and the choice of the menu. You can also allow or forbid anonymous people to attend at the meetings or to automatically register in joomla the new attendees that have an email address. Private meetings are also possible and can be restricted to preselected users. This extension is composed of a component and a plugin that can display the meetings anywhere. This extension only works on Joomla 3.x and contains the language files for the English, French and Portuguese. It does NOT work on Joomla 2.5 or lower. In the back-end, the main functionalities are: - Create meetings that you can restrict to a limited number of users - For each meeting, you can customize each proposals (columns) in which it is also possible to put any html code in case where you would like to provide a specific look. - Each proposal can have their own list of choices displayed to the users. Each choice provided to the users is also customizable. The choice can be a combo box, radio button, check box and even a free text. - You can also attach to each choices a specific html code that is displayed to the user when he take this choice. For example you can propose to pre-pay a lunch or perform a booking or make reference to an article that provides more info. - The display of the proposals in the front-end can be restricted depending on the user groups. So that, you can create special group of users that will not have the same proposals. For example, you can have a teacher that create several group of students depending on their level. In that way, the teacher can propose several activites depending on the student group and also reserve a special column that will be displayed to the user and only editable by the teacher. That will give him the possibility to publish if the student was present, or publish a score to an evaluation or whatever. - Email notification can be sent automatically when a new attendee is added to a meeting. In the front-end, the main functionalities are: - Possibility to display the list of meetings available. - Possiblity to attend a meeting. Attend to a meeting can be anonymous or requires to have a joomla user account. - Possiblity to automatically create the joomla user account when a pseudo (username) and email are required. When a user is automatically created, an email with a generated password is sent to the user with the information to login into the website. - Possibility to make an alternative proposal to a meeting.
