This is perfect for if you have users that upload images into content pages and their images are sometimes too big. You can size the images right in the browser. No need to ask users if they have a photo editor installed on their computer.

I subscribed to the JCK Editor site primarily so I could use this plugin. Once I got everything installed I discovered that this plugin's U/I is inconsistent with the rest of the editor and it doesn't respect the editor's security settings. It does not use the extended file browser (which I also subscribed to get) and, even worse, it completely ignores the security settings you put in place such as restricting uploads to use folders. Several users are inquired about this on their forums and the replies have been "we are working on it" but the replies are quite dated.

Owner's reply: Dear Rgabbard, We have taken note of your review and have now tied this plug-in into the editor’s core “User Folder” option, which is what I think you are talking about when you mentioned security.

This plugin comes with its own image manager which is used for uploading and editing images. Admittedly, Its GUI is not accessible via the image plug-in (as the other file managers are) but nerveless is still a very useful plug-in of the editor.

As this has been misunderstood, I have added a note about this on the listing and now will release this plug-in to the community for free as a gesture of goodwill.

The ARK Editor (formally known as the JCK Editor) is an WYSIWYG editor designed to simplify your content creation. It incorporates a new technology called Inline Editing that allows its users to edit page elements directly without the need to use a special editing screen. For this reason it can transform Joomla sites and make them incredibly easy-to-use! Its user familiar due to its modern Windows Metro like interface yet configurable enough to be used for enterprise developments. Allowing for customisation and shaping in virtually any direction. This could be from creating bespoke toolbars to adding functionality with new plugins, content templating and typography and with the setting up of user permissions and user folders. It's licenced under the General Public License and aims to be a community resource that embodies the Joomla project and its values.

It’s extremely easy to use and doesn’t require the user to handcode HTML in their Joomla editor! In theory it can work anywhere, in any component, module, content item etc… in fact wherever the editor can go, it can go! It works to take the hassle out of building, managing, and linking to external content. The user only needs to paste the 'URL' into the URL dialog box, set height and width and you’re – done! However, for those who would like to take it further users can opt to Enable Scrollbars, Show iframe Border, Advisory Title, apply id or CSS styles or even write your code inline! ★ IMPORTANT NOTE: From Joomla! 1.5.8+ a default article filtering choice was set in place for those who have not enabled the appropriate filter options. If your user group is blacklisted the iframe tags will be stripped away when saving to the database. Please see http://www.joomlackeditor.com/installation-guide?start=8 on how to setup and configure your system. ★ INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: Please see: http://www.joomlackeditor.com/installation-guide?start=10

Insert HTML launches the ability to insert segments of HTML code and places it into the page at the cursor location, without having to switch to Source mode! This is especially useful when you need to paste a Paypal button or a Social bookmark into your code, or even when you need to update a segment of code half way down your article. ★ NEW: It nows comes with a syntax highlighter which works to beautifully colours your code! ★ Installation instructions: Please see: http://www.joomlackeditor.com/installation-guide?start=10

The JCK Word Count Inspector is a free plugin for the JCK editor. It works to calculate the number of words in a document or passage of text and does this automatically, on the fly in the editor status bar. Word counting may be needed when a text is required to stay within certain numbers of words. This may particularly be the case in academia, legal proceedings, journalism and advertising. Word counts may be also be used to calculate measures of readability and to measure typing. ★ INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: Please see: http://www.joomlackeditor.com/installation-guide?start=10
