yvTransliterate is Transliteration plugin for Joomla!. The plugin transliterates article aliases and aliases of other elements of Joomla! site interface (menu items, sections, categories...), that are used in Search engine optimization (SEO) for creation of Search engine friendly (SEF) slugs (URLs).
For transliteration of the alias of the Article, it takes into account "Content Language" of the Article (stored in metadata of the Article). And it may also be used by (integrated in) any other Joomla! extension to transliterate text strings. Language packs are supported: they contain transliterations for additional languages.

v.2.1. February 2013: Updated to support Joomla! 2.5.
(Please download yvTransliterate v.2.0.x of packages for Joomla! 1.6 - 1.7)

v.2.0. March 2011: Updated to support Joomla! 1.6.
(Please download yvTransliterate v.1.xx of packages for Joomla! 1.5)

What's new in v.1.2.0:
1. yvTranliterate code moved to SVN repository, see http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/yvtransliterate/scmsvn/
2. Debugging was greatly improved
3. 'Default content language' option was added. If the value of this option was not selected, the language defaults to current Language of User interface.

What's new in v.1.1:
1. Added another 'hook' into Joomla! core: parameter 'Extend JLanguage class'. Now yvTransliterate may transliterate not only aliases of Articles (or comments in a case of yvComment), but aliases of other elements of Joomla! site interface also: menu items, sections, categories... in fact, yvTransliterate works in every place, where Joomla! core called JLanguage::transliterate method.
2. Two new translations were added since previous release, see them at JoomlaCode:
Czech (Thanks to Muskwa).
Ukrainian (Thanks to Ary Group).

Important plugin

Useful plugin especially for Joomla 1.5 sites with language containing national characters, eg. Polish. Now there is now problem with creation of aliases in any Joomla resources.

Great extension if your site is in other language than english and site users are submitting new content.

Thanks for this TOOL - it is great for publishers that have lot of articles to publish and don't want to think about aliases at all.

Thank You

This is the first what I install after the language pack every time. Thank you!

Works well

Only dont forget to download a language pack separately. The plugin itself does not have it. Its stated in the doc on the developers site, but as usual i downloaded and installed without thorough reading ).

Thanks for a good plugin! Molodec!

yvSmiley is a Smiley (Emoticon) extension for Joomla! 2.5 (for Joomla! 1.5 use yvSmiley v.1.XX). It may show smileys on the whole page (so, you will have smileys everywhere) or in your Articles only (working as content plugin), or it may be used by any Joomla! extension (as an example, it is integrated into yvComment extension already). yvSmiley ships with two ready to use "Smiley sets" (from TinyMCE and phpBB), that you may customize, and it also supports aMSN (Alvaro's Messenger) skins, so you may choose from many existing "Smiley sets" and use them without any modification. yvBBCode is a BBCode extension for Joomla! 2.5 (for Joomla! 1.5 use yvBBCode v.1.XX). It may replace BBCodes with HTML markup: - on the whole page (so, you may use BBCodes everywhere, even in the places, where Joomla! natively allows plain text only), - or only in your Articles (working as content plugin), - or it may be used by any Joomla! extension to provide "BBCode buttons" for editor and replace BBCodes with HTML markup in text, generated by this extension (as an example, it is integrated into yvComment extension already). The extension is customizable, so you may choose, what subset of BBCodes to use, what images are used for buttons etc. Read detailed information on the Homepage.

yvComment is native Joomla! 2.5 (and Joomla! 1.5 - 1.7 - download older packages!) Commenting solution, it is well documented and free. It has two required parts (i.e., extensions): component + plugin. It also has a lot of optional extensions, including Module, Community Builder plugin, Content Subscription plugin and 35 Language packs, so the resulting solution may be very simple or more complex - it's up to you. yvComment supports Captcha (secret word) extensions, Smileys, BBCodes, WYSIWYG editor, Community Builder, JNews and many content plugins and tools designed to work with Articles of Joomla! (e.g. GeSHi). yvComment allows users to add Comments to Articles (and optionally Comments to Comments also). Comments may be stored in the same database table used by content (where they are treated as a special type of Article), or in their own table. (Read more on the Homepage). Replying to the Editor's note above: This extension does NOT have any hidden links. It does have the only visible link of the form: "yvComment v.X.XX", which appears below the list of comments. The link leads to the yvComment's Home page. This behavior is exactly the same as of Joomla!'s core: look at the bottom of the page in built-in Joomla! templates! BTW that yvComment's Home page hasn't had ANY advertisements in the previous 6 years ;-) July 2013 v.2.1.1 1. Fixed: Layout setting doesn't work in Joomla! v.2.5 2. Hungarian translation updated.
