The problem that I have is that it is not an out-of-the-box solution that you might expect when paying for something. The demo is NOT what you get without either knowing CSS or paying additional. If you are a whiz at CSS then you will have no problem but if you are like me and use Joomla and its extensions BECAUSE I don't know anything about CSS (among other things) then you can expect to be told to "upgrade" at an additional fee to make it work like it probably should out of the box.
For example, I created a simple menu item to check domains and the page loads but none of the extensions and prices lineup correctly.
I think it's a good extension I just might warn anyone who does not know CSS to stay away for a while.
We are charging for this product. The product comes 100% free. And also you do not need to know css to use this product as everything is manageable using the backend configuration.
Additionally check the forums at Softuff.org and see we are not charging for anything except if some template is not compatible with Ajax Whois that is it uses absolute and relative positioning mechanism and if in case the user does not know how to modify the template css user can choose a paid support plan.
10 thumps up and 10 stars for them :)
Especially as I needed a wide variety of TLD's for users to choose from.
The module links to the component and can bring extra flexibility in your configuration.
I got a bit confused initially as to which files I should be downloading. It took a bit of figuring out that the 1.5 versions are currently only available to paid subscribers. But for a few quid/bucks it was well worth it - not least for the excellent support I got in a CSS problem I had.
If you want a basic domain checker that searches just a few domains, you may be happy going for a non-commercial exension. But if you want ultimate flexibility (and not forgetting the Ajax performance!), then definitely go for this one!!!
These people are so marvelous that they even assisted me in rectifying many other problems on my website.
Thanks for everything, Softuff team!!
After some problems to get look-ups done for the co.za domain I have found immediate and effective support from the people at softuff.org.
Excellent extension backed by excellent support!
This extension is great and I would recommend it to anyone, it wasn't even difficult for me to install, and if it was the support fourm is very helpful anyway!
Top marks.
it's very speed and very flexible
i advise all members to use this module because the visitors in your site will find the most of extensions none download pages
just one click to get any thing you want in this subject
thanks softuff
After I searched for the joomla components which can handle the domain search in short time, I found not better components than the AjaxWhois!
It is easy to install and clear instructions and guidance are available when required by the component owner. As the name suggests, it is lightening fast to give results of the searched domains. The easiest configuration from the back-end is an plus point for this component.
I must recommend all new and existing users to come together applaud for such a wonderful contribution to the community by Softuff.org.
Congratulation for having an excellent component which may cost hundreds of dollars at free for the benifit of the community members like me!
I hope you will keep on refining and holding a top place in terms of domain whois lookups in Joomla! CMS!
Thank you and wich you a good luck in future endeavours to conrtibute to the Joomla! community.

Great tool, quick support, nice look :)
I use this tool in Canada/USA and other than some permission issues (which was quickly resolved with the unbelievably fast support on the author's forum).
Highly recommended!
Great Tool, Beautiful Design, Versatile functionality.
I really like this module and might have given 10 star rating if possible. After having this kind of tool I will like to start just a Whois website.
I checked a domain and it said it was "unavailable". Out of curiosity, I check the same domain on whois.ws and guess what...it was "available".
If this wasn't the case, I'd give an excellent rating because it looks GREAT, but looks aren't everything.
Hi, one7media,
Please bear in mind it is beta version only.
That might have been a bug. The error might have been due to too many requests.
Your support must have been very helpful to us. Please post your message at Softuff Forum including the domain checked, so that the bug can be ruled out.
