Version 2.18 is the latest version. Now also support Joomla 3.0.
In Joomla 2.5/3.0 (1.6 and 1.7) the plugin can be upgraded automatically with the upgrade feature of Joomla at the extensions.
This is the last version where Google Maps API version 2 is supported because this Google Maps version 2 is deprecated from 19 May 2013. So please migrated to Google MAPS API version 3 (set the version to 3.x in the configuration of the plugin).
Also added language support for all the parameters: English, French, Italian and Spanish.

2.18 is a stable version and the following changes are made:
* Joomla 3.0 ready
* Parameters to show Twitter tweets on map
* Google Maps V3:
- Added transit, bicycle and traffic layer and to the directions
* Check for textarea's besides editor so it can be used in frontend editing
* Add css file and css parameter for google maps to solve css problems of templates or extensions
* Use Joomla framework for standalone php files
Solves the following errors:
* Vertical/horizontal slide of the map with new versions of mootools
* Several bugs in Lightbox for v3 and added a css class
* Several bugs in geoxml for v3
* Several bug in Google Earth maptype with the infowindow
For me, as a complete beginner, this is one of the easiest to use plug ins. I tried a different plug in for google map, which many reviewers said was easy to use, but couldn't make it work. This one is fantastic.

There is nothing not to like about this plugin. It is as easy or as complex as you want to make it and it works perfectly. It is feature rich and displays perfectly on all browsers. I had a minor issue with borders appearing but Mike was incredibly helpful and responded very quickly to my request. The code he wrote for me solved the problem instantly. I can't recommend this plugin or Mike highly enough. You will not be disappointed if you use it. Thank you Mike for doing such a great job.
Even being an absolute beginner I managed to implement the extension without much effort. Works swell. Mike lived up to his reputation of offering a speed-of-light-quick and accurate support. He had a lot of patience for the ignorant little me. I highly recommend the extension.
Usually, I'm using only a few of extensions. But *this one* is a "must to have".

I think this is the best googlemaps plugin available on the market. I tested several googlemaps plugin, but when I found this one, it felt in love. This plugin offers extraordinary possibilities and very impressive effects. Besides being an excellent plugin, the technical support is even better. Special mention to M. Mike Reumer, well done.
I am currently using this extension on two web sites for both directions as well as general information about an area. One web site has 10 location maps housed in a NoNumber tabber component.
Performance and usability are great. The fact that it integrated into tabber without any problem testifies to the quality of the plug-in.
The plug-in is very powerful but easy to use, in part, because of the excellent documentation (including code snippets). Support was excellent. I requested a change to the plug-in at about 10pm. I had an updated plug-in in my inbox at 7am.

But some days ago I started having problems after updating this plugin. The map wasn't showing up and I contacted Mike to see if he could help me.
Mike was really fast in his reply and pointed out where was the problem comming from. It turned out to be a problem related to another plugin developed by myself that was causing a conflit with googlemaps plugin.
It's really great to have a free extension like this available to everyone with this high level of quality.

I've installed the plugin and wasn't displaying. I've contacted Mike and the superstar developer that he is had a look, found the problem and provide me with a solution in less than 48 hours.
