I was excited to come across this extension when I read what it could do! I wasn't too concerned with some of the low ratings due to how easy it claimed to be to configure. To my dismay, I had problems with the extension loading on the front-end. I submitted a ticket with no luck. I am writing this review to warn others not to buy until they fix their support or develop proper documentation.

Module is only working in Google Chrome browser. Can't get a response from support after 48 hours, as promised. Based on the other reviews, it looks like I'm out the $15. My recommendation is that unless you are a programmer and can debug/support this product yourself, don't waste your time or money. If I end up getting a response, I will add to this review.

In basic, this is a fine component. But don't except any support. I've got two supporttickets open now for two months and still no reply.

The search engine is very poor. for example: it doens't search well one country's...

There are better options!

This extensions is quite good but the support service is inexistant...

The software work. But there are no support. Summit a ticket for about 2 months with no respond. If you know what you are doing the map part work. But do not expect any help from them.

I love the map and the ability to filter by location. I just wish the support was better; I’d like to find out if the control works under Joomla 1.6

They might have scraped the project? It’s a shame because it’s a great product.

This component looks to be great, but I'm not able to get categories working. Emails to support have gone unanswered so far. Other than that, it's pretty decent functionality for the cost, and simple implementation.

I wonder if this project is now dead - the support site had all the support tickets dumped and the developer has not answered any of my emails since July 16, 2010.
Shame - it was quite good.

Purchased a license and installed fine. Got the Google key but the map or data never loads. Wish there was some type of help doc.

Would not recommend.

This component could be very useful if finished and polished. Just few things that don't work:
1. You can't reorder atributes,categories columns.
2. Details on location baloon doesn't display always in same order
3. Hide Address2 field in Location listing display settings doesn't work
4. Several times Locations, atributes or categories doesn't show up. You have to close and reopen explorer to show up again.

As nothing new happends on official site and there are no new updates/versions, It seems to me as abandoned project, which would be a pity.

This is one of those extensions I'm still not sure how I feel about. After checking out the demo I went ahead and purchased it just so I could start adding business lists to a map. It only costs 14.95 so if it turned out to be a flop then it wasn't that big of a deal.

It is fairly easy to use. The feature of being able to have different categories and assigning a different color map marker to each category was a big plus for me. Not only can you have categories, but sub-categories as well. I dreaded the notion of adding lots of map locations and it taking a long time to load like I've seen with other products. If you plan your category setup correctly you can then set a default category in the backend which prevents all of your listings from loading on the first instance of the map displaying. This makes it much faster than other extensions I've tested.

I did have one issue with Webmap...I wanted to turn off the display listing on the left side beside the map. For something claimed to be highly customizable you would think a simple on/off feature in the setup would accomplish this. After setting everything associated with the display listing to hide I thought it would do just that. Nope, the info was hidden but the box to display the info was still there. I used the ticket system on the developer's site asking about this. Two days later I received a reply that instructed me to add code in the CSS file. That solved the problem, but it was a simple feature that should have been available in the global configuration section.

Another issue I have with Webmap is the Search Form and Category Filter. They need to be integrated. You can use the search form to enter a zip code and range and get results, but the category filter to the right of the search form has no bearing on your search results. The same in reverse, if you use the Category filter to filter your results...you cannot select a range to narrow down based on distance. This is the only flaw in Webmap as far as I'm concerned. I've received too many emails from users asking why they cannot filter their results based on the range they have selected.

All in all it is a really good map extension. It is the best one I've tested so far. If the developer would update the search/filter feature and make some of the things which need code modifications were added as check box options in the global configuration, it would be an outstanding 5 star rated extension.

It does what it says, but I can only use it in backend. Now if this were some how usable for the frontend (submiting places), or integrated into articles this would be very impressive. Well done, I like the concept behind this.

Easy installation and works fine. BUT this component does not support multilingual sites. Unfortunately on a site of the developer it is nothing wrote about this big bug of a component.

I have been using this component for a dealer listing with over 200 dealers. It took a little creative organizing to get it to work to my customers needs but it does work well. However, it is in your best interest if you have a lot of map locations to use to categorize them and create a default location to 1 specifc location rather than all the locations as the google map links will take a great deal of time to load if you have too many on one location.

Also technical support has been prompt to answer questions and come up with solutions to questions. I did however notice that the ticket support is not friendly with IE browsers and you must use firefox to login or view tickets. I will continue to utilize this component.

This component is easy-to-use and works great for the mapping of multiple locations for an entity. I had some unique needs for my project and the WebMap+ folks were very responsive in providing insight into how the code could be tweaked to support my requirements. Highly recommend if you're seeking 'google-like' mappings for your organization.

I like this. We list a number of events around the world. This map is flexible, I can add lots of my own attributes, it looks very professional, and the support is excellent. I added 8 support tickets, and all where answered within 24 hrs - even with pieces of code to make changes :-)

Otherwise i have opened two support ticket to the helpdesk but no one have take care.

What more can I say excellent component & module just the ticket to list multiple branches of a company etc. Very well written could do with some instructions though.

The support these guys provide is top notch. Make sure you use the ticket system as my emails didn't always get through to them but the ticket system always did. I had CSS changes I wanted made and they gave me the changes quickly that you can add in through the admin panel so you don't have to deal with a CSS file direcly. The user interface is really easy to use yet complete and good for lay people. You can add as many attributes as you want to a location which came in handy. The CSV upload/download worked nicely. Definitely worth the money and my client loved the high tech feel of their website with this plug in. Awesome if you have a lot of locations to show.

This component is awesome. Everything you could possibly want in a locator. It will really dress up your site and is perfect for any business with multiple locations. The integrations of Wikipedia and Panoramio Google Maps Layers are excellent. It is super inexpensive and support is top notch.
