This is a really good extension and my website looks great becvause of it!

I know that the author hasn't the time to support, but I was wondering if anyone else has come across a problem displaying the sets when the module is displayed after selecting s drop-down menu option?

So simple to install and set!
At the beginning I was having trouble displaying large images, it displayed "Image currently unavailable" even though the thumbnails were ok. I read in a forum I had to resize my images to 1024 px. and I have to admit I was losing my hope! But then, after trying some other modules I realized if I set the Image Size to "Medium" it should work just fine, since apparently it's a Flickr issue. And so I gave it a one more shot... Totally worth it! I'm thrilled with my gallery, thank you so much!

I was not really looking for this. But once I saw what the module offered I settled for this. Nice Interfaces and Options.

Having said all this, 1.4 and 1.3 does not work for me. If I include it in my site, it screws my entire website(A blank page is displayed). 1.2 worked. And I just like it. Thanks.

This is one of the best flickr mods BUT BE CAREFUL, it seems the developer has stopped supporting it on his site. I have used this all over my site, & changing modules means a lot of work, since no support= no solution.

Maybe this extension worked for others but it certainly doesn't work for me.

I tried versions 1.3 and 1.4.

I have correctly set my Flickr ID in accordance with the method (xxx.com).

It shows a message saying that it isn't configured in the module position where I placed it.

When I set the number of images to display, it gives an error message.

There is no documentation (except for telling you how to get your flickr ID) and no way to contact the developer, and it certainly isn't intuitive. I know that developers may not always have time to give support for free extensions, but at least write some basic documentation!

From all the good reviews before mine I was hoping that it would work. But reviews can always be faked, or maybe the component used to work, but doesn't anymore.

Mind you, I am not a Joomla Novice, and I develop extensions of my own.

I have tried every single flickr extension (and I do mean EVERY one). This one comes closest to something I can use. Not all the way there, but closest.
You cannot display photos from a group, which would be great. Ideally I could display photos from a group, and also display galleries from individual members within a group. No extension does this yet, so I am assuming it is just something too difficult to do.
But, I can use highslide, all I have to do is get flickr ids from every member of my site, and create a module for each of them...hooray
Like I said, at least it comes close to being what i need.

I have downloaded the 3 versions of this module.
1.1, 1.2 and 1.3

The earlier version does not support using flickr sets. But works if you are not using sets, and works very well.

1.2 and 1.3 support sets, but I was unable to install version 1.3.

1.2 installs OK but cannot get sets to work.

There is no real documentation for this module and there is no means to contact the developer.

All in all I really like this extension and would recommend it, but if you need to use sets, then it may not be the answer

Easy to set up with good instructions in the FAQ as to where to get your Flickr API key which is essential for using the module.

I found the module displayed thumbnails where on some lines they drop off like a cascading effect though, instead of a horizontal line of images. On going to the site, comments were locked and no place for asking questions or reporting bugs.

Given that this extension was last updated in May 2008, it may be getting a bit long in the tooth now.

This is a great module. It is simple to set up and has most of the parameters you need.

My only complaint is the lack of the Module Class Suffix parameter.
