KL-RSSFEED by corePHP Plugin

Tableless KL-RSS FEED is an enhancement of the KL-RSS FEED Joomla! 1.0.x and Joomla! 1.5.x plugin. It enables you to put in news feeds within content as an unordered list. We have replaced all the tables with div tags and stripped it down to as little code as possible. We also replaced the titles with h3 tags to increase search ability for screen readers and search engines, which comply with 508 compliance. It now also offers UTF-8 Support.

Features:

* Support Joomla! 1.0.x and Joomla! 1.5.x
* UTF-8 Support
* Valid XHTML & CSS.
* Optimized for search engines
* 100% CSS Tableless design
* Turn dates on and off
* Some minor bug fixes. - Thanks jrhett

Report

I would rate this plugin as excellent if it worked in the most recent version of Joomla but it does not. Due to its previous reviews being good I made the investment to get this working on my installation and it took quite a number of small changes. If you are adept at PHP you can probably get this working, it took me about 2 hours.

Once I had it working I was very pleased with it, it is simple and does no more or no less than what I want. If someone wants my patched version of this you can send me a message.

This is the best RSS reader plugin you can get. It's easy to use and does exactly what it should. I tried other but went back to this one. Great support as well.

I love this plugin!
But installing it on a 158 site it's asking me to turn on legacy plugin.
This should work native according to the icons/writeup.

I love this extension, but there's one big flaw, which is not really the author's fault, but is still a deal breaker.

The problem is that:
1. All of my feeds contain ampersands
2. Every Joomla WYSIWYG editor I have tried converts a simple ampersand into an html code (&) which breaks the rss feed.

This is an excellent and very useful plugin. It allows you to insert RSS feeds from other websites. Great from start-up websites without much content. Very easy to use.

Having tried many of the RSS feed components/modules/plugins I found this to be by far the best in terms of flexibility in how feeds is displayed. Its fast, easy to use.

Killer Feature: Feed display
Cons: None so far

Simplicity is elegance- RSS feeds directly in content! This mambot works well and is easy to use. Remember to switch your WYSIWYG content editor to HTML view when entering the {kl_rssfeed}yourRSSfeedAddress)/kl_rssfeed} tag and it works perfectly. Thank you for this valuable tool! Nice parameter controls too.
I've tried a few of the RSS plugins and they all seem to try to do too much but fail to simply allow you to add feeds to the content of a page, not into a module box. This bot does just that and it's very easy to use.

But why doesn't it include the time/date of each feed? Apart from that it is perfect, for me.

Couldn't be easier to use - if you want to add RSS feeds to your content it's perfect
Because this gets inserted into a Content Item I was able to put multiple feeds onto one page and format a divider between each feed. Thank you! This is a terrific plug-in.

It doesn't get any easier than this. Simple and fast.
