Why?
I needed to enhance SEO by adding dynamic content to each of my site's pages. I wanted to do this by adding the text of a random blog post feed from my blog hosted somewhere else to the bottom of every page.
Another use:
I also use it as a random quote "generator" by pointing it to some quote website's RSS feed as can be seen on the home page of www.joretha.com under the main panel's scrolling photos.
Visit the demo page to see two samples of how it can be used.
This module works as advertised, install perfectly and is ready to use in no time. I tried all the different settings and found no errors.
But IMHO, it could improved with following features:
- ability to display more than one RSS-item (choose 1, 2, 3, ...) items to be displayed.
- ability to follow the RSS-item(s) with a list of item-titles of a predefined number of the other items in the feed.
- ability to display a banner or google-ads with adverts linked to the feeds' subject or content inside the module (left, right, top, bottom,or between the "featured" item(s) and the list of the other items of the feed..)
Just my 2cts.
