I have one question however, how can uploaded media items be prevented from being published immediately once uploaded. I would be nice if uploaded media items could be vetted prior to being published.

It's working very fine, but my only problem is to have the possibility to encore video media in FLV, if you can do that, it will be great, or may be i can help you in this direction.
Good idea, i did a lot of improvements to this new version hope you like, i don't know how to encode the video, but you are welcome to join this project http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/denvideo/frs/?action=index
The application need some more polishing in the code and functions parameters but anyone with basic or advance PHP knowledge you will be able to fix these little details.
Good job guys!
