Latest Version
==============
v2.5.7 (for Joomla 2.5)
Released January 26, 2012
Native version of the Google Weather Module for Joomla 2.5!
v1.6.7 (for Joomla 1.6) and v1.7.7 (for Joomla 1.7)
Released October 16, 2011
Support for km/h for wind speed. If you display the temperature in degree Celsius, the wind speed will be displayed in km/h. If you display the temperature in degree Fahrenheit, the wind speed will be displayed in mph.
Note: By default, Google only returns the wind speed information in mph. I used the PHP function preg_match() to search for the string "mph". If you have displayed the weather information in other languages (e.g. Russian) which does not display miles per hour as "mph", the module will just display whatever wind information that is returned by Google.
v1.6.6 (for Joomla 1.6) and v1.7.7 (for Joomla 1.7)
Released October 10, 2011
Native version of the Google Weather Module for Joomla 1.6 and 1.7!
v1.0.5 (for Joomla 1.0) and v1.5.5 (for Joomla 1.5)
Released May 16, 2010
The module is now W3C XHTML 1.0 Transitional compliant.
v1.0.3 (for Joomla 1.0) and v1.5.3 (for Joomla 1.5)
Released February 14, 2010
Added one more parameter in the config page to allow user to choose whether to set focus on the input field for the city.
v1.0.2 (for Joomla 1.0) and v1.5.2 (for Joomla 1.5)
Released January 20, 2010
* Allow user to define the popup prompt in their own language. This is in response to the request by Doug.
* Added support for IE8. Thanks to Mike for contributing this.
* No longer shows San Francisco in the input field when you have defined other city as default.
v1.0.1 (for Joomla 1.0) and v1.5.1 (for Joomla 1.5)

Thank you for the great module
Hi,
It's due to the Google Weather API. While the weather forecast can be displayed in many different languages, for some reason, the Google Weather API only recognizes city name in English!
The rule is set by Google. So there's not much that we can do...

Q: How can it be set or configured to display the wind speed in km/h?
Hi,
I have the km/h version. But I didn't release it because using the km/h version, you can only display the weather forecast for one city per joomla page. (In contrast, with the mph version, you can show multiple cities in multiple module positions in one page.)
If you're ok with one city per page, and you want to show km/h, just send me a message via the support page, and I'll email the km/h version to you.

/kksou
I do have one question though - how and/or where can I change how often it updates - it is still on the same forecast as it was yesterday - it should have moved on by one day (shouldn't it)? Thanking you in advance for you help. Greetings from Berlin, Germany >:o)
Hi,
Thanks for the encouraging note! Regarding your question, the problem is the Weather data comes from Google, and Google does not tell us how often and when does it updates the weather info. Due to the time difference between Google (which is in California) and your country, you might find that even though your side is already Sunday 2am in the morning, it's still Saturday in California - and the Google Weather Forecast doesn't look right because it's still showing Sunday in the first row.
Until Google allows us to control this in its API, there's not much we can do about this...

Finally, I realized that it was this module and that default parameter doing that. I then spent a couple of hours looking through the code trying to figure out what was happening. It never dawned on me that was the expected behavior, I assumed it was a bug. Why would anyone want their page to automatically scroll to this module, at least make the default 'no'.
Also, all the inline JS should be using the JDocument add script methods not 'print' statements.
Hi,
Thanks for the suggestion. The latest version has that set to 'no', as per your suggestion.
The option is still there. For those who want to have the focus automatically set to the city field, you can set it to 'yes' in the Parameter area.

I also use Google Currency Converter from the same developer and is very pleased with that too.
Great support, immediate feedback to my inquiries. AWESOME!
My only disappointment with it now is all of a sudden the city I had set to default is no longer available (Paphos). It's says not a valid city or zip, and this is the case for a number of other cities or countries.
I contacted Google via the help forum but have not heard anything back yet which is a shame as I'd like to continue using this one.
Simply perfect weather module. Really improved my camping page. Nothing negative to add ;)
It would have been excellent BUT... One little Caveat and suggestions :
- Add toggle to show the "State" (or not), in my case, i only need the city name
- As the whole module is multilingual, evaluate using the city name in that language (e.g. in english - Brussels, in dutch - Brussel and in french - Bruxelles).
- Nice2Have, it might be nice to be able to state the number of days in the forecast (4 max).
PS> If you have a new version, do not hesitate to come to me to test it... Great Job, Great Module, Strongly recommend for all.
