This extension is exactly what my client needed: a multi step quote creator. With this extension you can offer in your website one or more forms where your costumers can customise their product completing various steps.
At the end they will be able to send the quote request to the website owner.
It will be fantastic if you add the possibility to buy directly after the product configuration.

I needed a quoting system for one of my clients, I stumbled upon Dm Easy Quote and I got a copy because it seemed to be the right solution. I could set it up pretty fast, had a few questions that support answered in one working day. Now client is happy, and so am I. Overall, it is a really good quoting system, quite easy to use and complete.

Bought this component in March 2013, and did not get it to work... asked for support and supplied login credentials never heard from them again... not even after sending more support requests.

This extension is really good because it does what it should do: be easy. Some more advanced controls would have been nice but this extension result to be useful and incredibly easy to use anyway. Also if you need support, that is excellent too.

The DM Easy Quote component shows real promise of becoming a fantastic Joomla extension. DM Joomla Extensions states they are working on incorporating more advanced features as well as better documentation for the next release.

Honestly, I didn't need any instructions.

There are a few very minor kinks to work out and the features in the next release will really make this thing shine. By minor I mean things like adding the $ or € currency symbols to the prices.
The component installs easily and runs smoothly. It seems to be well-coded and stable. If you need this kind of extension on your site, there is no reason why you can't install and use this one right away - it works exactly as described on the DM Joomla website.

There needs to be something added to manage submissions. When entering data (answers to the questions) there is a lot of scrolling; it would be nice if those answer forms would collapse.

I wouldn't worry about adding styling to this. If a user needs to make any changes, they only have to edit the single CSS file - that's pretty remedial stuff and I'd rather have the developers working on more advanced features; I can make most of us can make it pretty ourselves.

I only know of one or two other components that can be used to generate price quotes - for me, they all fell short of the mark and left me disappointed.

I look forward to the next release.

Overall this extension is easy to setup and configure, and it runs very smoothly on Joomla 2.5. It's great at estimating basic costs, and submitting order forms. Still, for 40 EUR, it's a bit pricey for what it is. A few more advanced features such as the ability to calculate quantity * price of service products would be nice, custom styling or additional supported themes, and more control over presentation would be great. The admin interface is basic at best. Also, more control over the content of the submission form at the end would be nice and the ability to see your current subtotal as you select features throughout the quoting process would be great.
Still, I found this extension very beneficial and I would recommend it to anyone who needs a basic quoting system.
